Keep getting disconnected in coop campaign half way through certain missions. My brother and I can’t finish delta halo on Halo 2. Always seems to happen once we start using the tank. We get booted back to main menu and have to start the level over.
Anyone know of a workaround ?

My brother and I just completed this same mission a few hours ago in the LASO playlist with no problems. Do you have the new useless skins/graphics turned off? If not, do that and try again and you should be good
You might need to reverify/reinstall halo 2’s files, though if it keeps happening, I’d file a support ticket. The team did recently give halo 2 one chonker of an update to fix all the broken elements and bring it closer to parity with legacy, but that as always can introduce issues.
Known bug on The Oracle and Delta Halo. I’ve (and others) reported this several times over the years and the workaround is that both players mash buttons (A in default I think) to skip the crash-cutscene.
Best option for now is to play couch co-op on console if possible.
Have had this happening for years on multiple different consoles with multiple different people. I honestly don’t think it’s ever gonna be fixed at this point.
Me and my friend had the same issue. We were halfway through Metropolis on legendary when the game just booted us back to the main menu. We couldn’t even resume the game either.
I played through all the games in the MCC cooperatively without any issues. But this was a couple of years ago when there were no abundance of unnecessary cosmetics or updates to the game.
I tried today to play Delta Halo and it crashes while using the tank past the bridge area with the wraiths. Its very disappointing… considering we wanted to replay the campaigns on our series X. We tried lowering performance to 60hz but we’d still get disconnected.
A quick search on the internet will reveal that this problem has been ongoing since last year. Chances are they won’t fix it with the release of infinite now.

A fix for me and my friend was to NEVER switch graphics from Classic to anniversary or reverse, start the game in classic graphics and stay in it, and finally don’t take too long on a level, the longer you take the more chances it’ll crash. Sadly no matter what we did, the game still disconnects us at times but only after the level completes.
We didn’t have to turn off new cosmetics, we didn’t have to lock our frame rates to 60, and we never did coop split screen
now doing all of that would probably have us rarely disconnected even more, but we still play and we just never turn on anniversary graphics, even if one of us is a crossed the world
I went through 100 treads and tried them all but finally found one that worked for me and my coop partner!
We were playing on the same router and it would kick us sometimes at random and say there was a connection interruption.
I changed the region to the 2 closest regions I live on the west side of the US so I believe I picked up US WEST and something Central. We have never been kicked again and were able to complete Halo 2 Coop Legendary!
