Halo 2 was my prime time. Those were the years when I had a large and active group of friends in-game, a separate but also large and active clan, a Bungie.net forum groups presence, and an active presence in the Halo CE modding community. Those were the years when I was the most “in it” that I have ever been and will ever be again, and yet somehow something escaped my notice.
I have suddenly acquired the Halo 2 Collector’s Edition steel case (which I did not own previously) bundled with another larger transaction and to my surprise found therein a DVD. In all my years playing Halo I never knew this DVD existed, and I am extremely stoked to pop it in and watch Halo content that I somehow missed and have not seen before.
Anywhoozzle, I’m about to go deep in old Halo nostalgia. And just wanted to share that. Happy friday, y’all.

It was a making of documentary full of baby faced Bungie employees running damage control on a very broken and incomplete game. So many giant computers and low-poly assets. Lol. There was also plenty of incomplete and cut cinematics, concept art, aliens, vehicles, etc. Plus like a company picnic, some LAN footage, rooster teeth cameos. And I never realized some of the big name voice actors that game has.
It was so good. To this day my favorite legacy title is still H2.

When Halo: CE came out I was a pretty big fan, but not in the way I am now. I credit the Halo 2 DVD for this - as it was something really special to see the behind the scenes of how the game was made, and that combined with the Bungie.net forums really made Halo feel like its own community compared to other games out there.
