Halo 2 Co-op not working

My friend is host, I am joining his game session to play Halo 2 co-op. On his screen it says I am the leader, even though he controls everything.

We’ve completed Halo 1 and tested Halo 3 which loads fine.

But any level we try in Halo 2 disconnects us. During the loading screen I hear a constant clicking sound and then he gets connection lost and we both return to the main menu.

The very first time we tried it did work, but we had to restart and since then we cannot get into the game.

We tried with me as the host and had the same problem, roles reversed.
We’ve tried restarting the game, restarting consoles, restarting internet.

I thought the update was to fix party issues…

Anybody else with this issue or anyone know how to get around it?

i GET EXACTLY THE SAME THING!! I Have almost finished all the other campaigns in co-op mode but no matter which halo 2 level i try to load in co-op mode that beeping sounds comes and we disconnect.

I guess its good to know we are not alone but hopefully they fix this very very quickly. After all, it is the main reason they released this halo game, halo 2 anniversary edition…

That happen to me and my friend before, But we just Restarted our Xbox and then it worked for us.

This. We tried everything else and it wouldn’t work. Botb rebooting the console fixed the problem.

I had made a post on a possible temporary fix but it got pushed pretty far down. Just launch the halo 2 co-op in classic graphics and music then you should have better success at getting in to the coop stuff. For some reason the remastered graphics don’t like co-op
