I really miss some gametypes from the original Halo 2 Skirmish playlist back in the day, and would love for some of them to be added to the 4v4 Halo 2 Classic playlists. These were some of my favorites and my teams favorites:
CTF:
1-flag CTF Relic
1-flag CTF Terminal
1-flag CTF Burial Mounds
2-flag CTF Coagulation
Assault:
1-bomb Relic
1-bomb Terminal
1-bomb Burial Mounds
2-bomb Coagulation
As a side note, the weight of backwash could probably be dropped significantly.
I am not a fan of anything “1” whatever. “Multi” games are much better in my opinion.

This.
Do these gametypes not exist in the Match Composer?

All of the gametypes are in the Match Composer.
I understand your pain the OG Version of Halo 2 Gametypes for MM isn’t anywhere to be found on MCC MM. Because since now a days Halo players like being shot across the map all the time. So, having the OG version of MM unfortunately won’t be happening any time soon.
Trust me I wish there was just 1 Cross Game Ranked Playlist with 6v6 Halo CE - H4 and with Halo Reach in the future. With normal settings as for Map Defaults for weapon starts and, on the map, as well with Slayer and Objective gametype in it.

That doesn’t sound fun in the slightest. I understand comp 8v8 to an extent. But 6v6 sounds redundant. Too many players for small maps to pay well. Not enough players for large maps to play well.
To OP, those are exactly the game types I miss the most too!

Even if you think 1 flag/bomb games aren’t as good you should be happy to see variety in objective games. But as someone who loves objective games I don’t see how people could dislike 1 flag/bomb. My favorite moments ever in Halo are when your entire team was all running at the flag and trying to toss it off cliffs to capture it at Burial Mound or Headlong. And there’s something about having the whole team on defense makes it so intense getting something out or into their base.
Also maybe you never got to play 1 bomb assault on Ivory Tower, when you would have 3 of your teammates go left and draw there entire team to that point and sneak the bomb onto the other point. It is so satisfying to successfully plant a bomb when you know the entire enemy team is trying to stop you and they have better spawn points.
1 flag/bomb are obviously dying out, just like objective games in general in Halo. Everyone wants slayer and instant gratification that comes with it, no one wants to have strategies and sneak a flag out of the enemies base with them all looking for you, or sacrifice themselves a handful of times to run the gauntlet at Relic and finally toss the flag off that structure down to your waiting teammates. I think it’s a younger generation of players that don’t actually understand how fun objective games are when people really try in them.

In the past for Halo 2 and Halo 3 matchmaking when the game came out there was 4v4 for large maps with Slayer and Objective Gametypes so there’s no reason why it can’t work now.
With 6v6 its right there in the middle for small maps and large maps. Since you start off every game with Map Defaults for your starting weapon and what’s on the map every map that’s a developer made map can be in this playlist without fuss. You can always find players on small maps and it’s not too many players for large maps where its counted as BTB its right in the middle.
The Playlist is for your Normal Halo Players but with it being Rank you’ll go against other players on your skill level that know what they’re doing to win the game. If it was Social thing the problem would be is most of the time, you’re going to get bad players that don’t know the maps and where to find weapons, vehicles, grenades, power ups, and how to play the objective. Which is extremely annoying and makes you not want to play the game.

I’m sure you both have played objective games in social before, right? Nobody actually tries for the objective, they just treat it like slayer lol. Ranked objective games are so much more intense because people take it seriously and are actually trying to complete the objective. Especially when you get to higher ranks, everybody actually knows what they are doing and the best strategies for offense and defense on each map, makes it a more fun competitive environment than any slayer I have ever played.
Honestly the fact that you both casually ask if these game modes are in social makes me wonder if you ever tried real competitive objective games and know how amazing
they actually are compared to social, I question whether most the people who complain about objective games have ever actually played them in competitive and tried to do the objective, it’s like a whole different game lol.
I’m fine with rotating offense and defense games but keep them off of BTB maps. The maps are too large and take too long to cover the ground required to make a push (or repeated pushes) towards the objective. Zanzibar is probably the largest map suitable for 4v4 rotating objective, and even that’s pushing it. The only 4v4 game on BTB maps should be Snipers.

I can see the merit in the idea for sure. Don’t get me wrong, I think it would be a lot of fun to try out some sweaty customs with these settings. Plus it sounds fresh compared to what we’ve been playing for years. I’m just wondering what maps you intend to include in this playlist.
In my opinion, maps like Guardian/Lockout/The Pit/Gemini/Wizard/Warlock/Sanctuary would be out the window immediately. Maps of this size are simply not large enough for 6v6, nor were they designed for that game size. Take The Pit for example, the map functions well because you have 4 lanes to cover on each side of the map (long, green, training/sword and runway) and you have to choose where each teammate covers. You can’t split the entire team up to cover all four lanes, so you have to make a choice about what lanes to hold and how closely to watch them. There is always the idea of an investment on that map because you don’t have enough players to watch every lane, and this uncertainty is the foundation of the gameplay on Pit TS and flag. You would lose this foundation with 6v6 and the game would devolve into watching each lane religiously. I can make similar arguments for other maps of this size as well. The maps just aren’t designed for more than 4 players.
However, maps like Hang Em High, Rat Race, High Ground, Boardwalk or Zanzibar would probably fit the 6v6 dynamic very well. But once again, it begs the question of “what’s the point” when you might as well make it 8v8. The biggest problem is that the maps you could use that are “too small for 8v8 but too big for 4v4” are very few, and the current map pool can’t really capitalize on the potential of 6v6. Again, I think it would be sick for customs, and I’ve played some 6v6 swat on Halo Online and it seems fun, but making it a playlist of its own seems redundant when btb already exists and there isn’t a high demand for it.

I didn’t ask anything. Before you tag someone read their post. I made a statement. To answer your question… I’m a skill 50 in a few current RANKED playlists so yeh I think I’ve played real competitive games before.

My bad, I didn’t know I was in the presence of greatness.
