Certainly I’m not the only person to notice this?
In the Halo 2 Anniversary Campaign, I had taken note that it seemed Friendly AI that are supposed to follow along with you, don’t.
At first I thought I might have remembered things wrong, but then it basically happened for seemingly every level.
What the friendly AI would do is huddle up in a certain area, usually seemingly quite away and safe from enemy combatants, and just stay there. Never to move.
Then I thought the bug was no longer presented later in the campaign, where Master Chief rescues Marines in High Charity… despite their odd behavior.
But then I was let down in that aspect, as they proceeded to do exactly what I stated before right when we first encounter Elites in that level: huddle in a corner.
The Arbiter mission afterward misled me in the same way.
It is a minor thing to be sure, but I have fond memories of /always/ arming my allies to the teeth when I was a kid playing Halo 2.
Then we’d go and kick some -Yoink-. It was a disappointment that I could not have that done again, but then again, I now play on Heroic/Legendary now instead of Normal like I did years back.
You are definitely not the only person to notice this. I have seen this on the level Metropolis in H2A. None of the marines get onto the warthog and makes the level twice as harder.

I actually had them come over onto the Warthog in that level. No problems in that regard for me.
However…Over on Delta Halo when the Pelican drops off weapons and then Marines… Marines were totally useless. They walked up, we faught the initial covenant forces that come at you, but then after that, they just stayed inside the structure and never moved.
Then at Sacred Icon, when you run into the group of covenant survivors (Usually 3 guys, mix of Grunts and Jackals) they NEVER move from their position.
Also later on, when Elites drop in, they didn’t move at all either…
Then comes the level afterward, Quarantine Zone.
The Phantom that is supposed to drop off a spectre with R’tas never dropped them off.
Either that, or they never moved from position and I never noticed them at all.
Hope you’re reading this 343i. It really kind of takes away the immersion away from the game at points like this.
I hope this isn’t a problem for the other titles too, but if it is I will report them too.
I have noticed this several times as well. Sometimes the AI follows you a little, but then for no reason they just stop and stand around in one spot. I have eve noticed that the enemy (on a very few occasions) will not spawn or behave like they used to. It is pretty frustrating when this happens because it seems to occur at random times. Sometimes a group of allies acts fine, other times the allies are clearly not behaving right from the start, and sometimes they start out following you then stop for no reason.
Still happening on modern MCC on PC. Seems like something they may want to prioritize to at least some degree, but I suppose they aren’t debugging these games at all after the port is at a basic stable state.
