I hate seeing this thing in game, the bullet magnetism is so horrible on it you don’t even have to have the reticule on point.

It’s supposed to be like that.
The Halo 2 Battle Rifle is, more or less, mechanically on par with the Halo 2 version, where every weapon had exorbitant magnetism/aim assist. Plus, people seem to find every bit of fault with 343’s designs. So regardless, this was a neat addition on nostalgia value alone. It also adds that extra authenticity to Halo 2-based Forge remakes.
You aren’t going to find many who disagree with its inclusion, besides the magnetism (Which is intentional)
I prefer it over the default BR. I don’t get why they put the iron/recon sights over an actual scope, other than trying to show off Smart-Link.
I honestly its a fare trade if you can train yourself to use this in such a fashion that you can play like its a Halo 2 match it brings back so many memories.

Pretty much this. This is the root of the H2 BR notoriety. There were countless videos showing the epic magnetism “back in the day”. People clamor for a glimpse of the “hayday of Halo”, and then they get it… and there is a problem? I just don’t get it.
The halo 2 BR is perfect. The fact that they practically brought it straight over with hardly any changes is exactly why I’m proud of 343. The only bad part is that it’s not that easy to obtain. But I guess that’s another reason it’s so sick to use is because it’s not everywhere.

but no really, your complaining about this of all things? its not even on any competitive map/gamemode, you have the ability to use it yourself, and doesn’t it require lvl7 REQ points in warzone? by that point you SHOULD be spawning with really good weapons, get the damn round over already!

Up near top mid somewhere. Load up a Riptide custom and go look around for it.

I never seem to be able to grab it on spawn in game so I had to go hunt for it in a custom to know where it would spawn. 
The Halo 2 BR is amazing, and I would love to see it as a starting weapon in a future gametype.
