Halo 2 Birthday

:birthday: Its halo 2 birthday yay just saw it’s halo 2 17 birthday funny because its 17 and get it 117. But halo 2 is 17 years old. 17 years ago we played as arby meeting monkey. Hearing Half Jaw talk and learning more about the covies. The cool ending seeing a gravemind. And halo rock music and RVB becoming famous. Can’t forget playing on Xbox live and making Zombies a halo gamemode. And the birth of the Jackal Sniper so much came from Halo 2 and the launch of the game with the news and famous people it got more money than movies. The hard making of the game. So much for a game that came out in 2004 or 5. Happy birthday halo 2 happy birthday. As Sergeant Major Avery J. Johnson said “Oh, I know what the ladies like…”

Ah yes the game that introduced me to the concept of easter eggs. Had a lot of fun trying to get that scarab gun.

Fond memories.

I was the first person in my hometown to get Halo 2; all my friends and I crowded into my tiny bedroom as we watched the opening cinematic on a little CRT caravan TV that I had to tune in with an AV converter manually.

Over next week or so everyone else got their copies and we fill up my mate’s garage with TV’s, Xbox’s and a lot fo sweaty teenagers with our controllers. 16 player LAN’s were the norm.

Respect your elders, soon-to-be Infinite newbies.

A great day indeed! I hope they bring back ranked H2 to MCC this week in celebration of the anniversary.

The game that started it all for me, and the game I love above all others

Wow 17 years, after halo ce this was the most anticipated game for me and I wasn’t disappointed when it launched. I recall queuing up for midnight launch with my friends.

I have 2 copies of the Halo 2 limited Edition and 1 standard copy lol. Happy Birthday Halo 2

I remember buying the limited edition at my local used games shop, thinking that it would have the E3 showcase level included, lol. I was considerably disappointed when I realised the truth :joy:

Its nice we got to see the original ending for Halo 2 earlier this year via storyboards. Would be even cooler if we got to see it made into a mod

Happy birthday Halo 2!~~~

I remember when Halo 2 came out was the longest school day of my life haha.

When I get home I discovered that my dad had actually purchased me the Halo 2 Collector’s Edition. I had no idea there was a Collector’s Edition or what that even was. I was so happy. I watched that behind the scenes DVD probably 100 times.

I just loved getting to see behind the curtain about how one of my favorite games was made, and put a face to the names in the credits. It really brought my love of Halo up to a new level that I hope I still carry today.

That DVD/Collector’s Edition is likely what motivated me to sign up on bungie, net and we can trace my forum usage from back then all the way to here on Waypoint vNext (vNow? lol)

Happy (belated) birthday Halo 2 - you changed the world.

Such a landmark game that changed the entire industry! For me it holds a particularly special place as it’s when my Halo career started and was the first game development I ever got to be a part of. Looking back I’m still in awe over how much that scrappy Bungie team accomplished and how new concepts like matchmaking and parties have become a standard across gaming. Happy Bday, Halo 2!

Halo 2 was an incredibly hyped up game. I was in high school and vividly remember how everyone was talking about the game and claimed they were the best in school. All the LAN parties, tournaments, and all nighers were so much fun! Let’s not forget how infested the servers were, too.

I remember going over to my best friend’s house in junior high because his older brother got it and we stayed up all night playing. I’ll never forget the nonstop excitement and awe from playing H2 the first time.
