Kills should count towards the beam rifle kill comm, but doesn’t. Total bs
CE Pistol perfects dont count towards perfect commondations either. Its just one of those things we gotta live with.

You get a req pack for completing them and if I remember correctly they have some sort emblem as well.

Every commendation set has a mastery when you complete all in that category the mastery pack awards you an emblem for each mastery completed along with another emblem for what ever commendations you have completed…
The only exception is target master which awards you skins instead
And another note there are 6 commendations that don’t award an emblem upon completion
The H2 Beam Rifle was an addition that came later as the game went on, so the kills from said weapon didn’t count towards the existing commendations.

Yeah the way it should have worked is after getting so many kills you unlocked the next teir weapon then when you completed it you unlocked the top teir weapon. That would have been way more fulfilling than just an emblem.

I feel like any other reward system in halo 5 would have worked, really. sure emblems are cool, but when they are the only guaranteed cosmetic when you complete a commendation, it would be great to grind a commendation for an armor, or the next tier weapon, or anything besides an emblem

Buying things would have been the best, seems like it worked pretty well when it was used in reach.
To be honest I’d rather have commendations give you nothing just like reach did.

You get the Chief’s Crest emblem. It’s my personal favorite so it was a cool goal to pursue.
