Will halo be backword compatible and will server be online
No word yet on if Halo 2 will be BC because it is an original Xbox game. You might get more info closer to the time the Xbox One X launches since it will be BC for Original Xbox and Xbox 360 (or so I’ve heard).

the normal xbox one will also have OG xbox BC games. H2 isnt comfirmed, but with h3 being BC, im sure it will.

Hmm I didn’t know the regular Xbox One would be getting the OG Xbox BC. Thanks for the heads up!

I doubt halo 2 will. The servers were taken down a couple of years ago

In all seriousness, I did actually make a post about this, and I got a ‘potentially’ outcome. It may because it was loved by millions, it may not because of the ‘security of the servers’.
I really do hope it does though.

I hope Halo 2 will become an OG backwards compatible title! Simply for just nostalgic reasons. Although the servers I don’t think will ever be turned back on. Sorry man
I don’t think they made a H2 anniversary like they did with CE. They updated it to run on the 360 from the original xbox.
Apparently GameStop leaked a list of backwards compatible games and Halo CE and Halo 2 were both on that list. Other reasons Halo 2 is almost guaranteed to become BC: it was the most popular game on the Original Xbox and had by far the biggest online population… even after 360 came out, all the way until 2007. Both Halo 3 and Halo 4 are BC so it just makes sense they would make their two best games on OG Xbox BC as well. As far as online I am extremely hopeful. Phil Spencer, the guy who made OG BC happen to begin with, is very in tune and aware of how people feel about their favorite games. If there is anyway to make the online portions of OG Xbox games work I am certain Phil Spencer will make it happen.
I hope they do both halo ce and 2 then all the halo games would be playable on xbox one

I absolutely hope it becomes BC, but I’ve seen a lot of people say it’s not possible because of netcode. But hopefully they are wrong and this happens. I will be EXSTATIC if this happens.

Would love that to happen but I wouldn’t play it, I pretty much enjoy playing H2A
