Halo 2 at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

As many of you already know, Halo 2 is one of many games on display at the ‘Art of Video Games’ exhibit in Washington DC. I finally got to see it there myself so I went ahead and took a photo for those of who don’t live nearby. (photography was permitted)

Xbox Display

In one part of the exhibit they had a display for each of a variety of consoles, with the Xbox being one of them. For each console there was a game to represent one of four categories, which where ‘action’, ‘target’, ‘adventure’, and ‘tactics’. A screen to the left of the exhibit for each console had four corresponding buttons which would give some detail about the related game.

Halo 2 was under the ‘action’ category for the Xbox, and they gave some brief details, primarily campaign related such as how the Chief is a blank slate that you can put yourself into and how evocative the soundtrack is. The footage they showed was from the cutscene and subsequent gameplay on Cairo Station as well as part of the cutscene where the Arbiter was tortured in front the Covenant in High Charity.

I did a search and didn’t see any existing threads about how the exhibit turned out so I apologize if this was already posted.

Fable FTW!
That’s really cool man. I’d love to visit it someday when I go to Washington D.C.
