Hello, I’m wondering because when they made CEA it came out in 2011 while CE came out in 2001. Thats the ten year anniversary part. Does anyone think because Halo 2 didn’t come out until 2004 that we won’t get Halo 2 Anniversary until 2014? If it is 2014 I want to get the original Halo 2 to complete my game collection.
We likely won’t be getting a Halo 2 Anniversary at all, Halo CEA was to celebrate ten years of Halo, not 10 years of the game being out.

Good point. But I wouldn’t mind seeing one. If anything, they should wait and make a Halo 3 Anniversary just because that game was just that good.
You should play on Kai and Connect. They have custom games which are a lot of fun.
We will have to wait and see what they do. Halo 2 online MP for the PC being removed though seems like a strange thing to do if they aren’t doing something for Halo 2 online on the console.
Keeping PC games online for a company costs almost nothing. Microsoft pulling online support means something.
Also, when they pulled XBL support for original xbox games they gave money back to Halo 2 users (which I didn’t accept) and other things. They probably knew Halo 2 was a loss for it’s online community. They probably think they can make money on it in the future if they were willing to give money to users of Halo 2 in the past.
If there is a 10 year anniversary for Halo 2. It would come out in 2014.
It’s very likely that we’ll be getting Halo 2: Anniversary in 2013 or 2014. Microsoft has stated their desire to have yearly Halo releases, and Halo: Anniversary was made for profit and trust in 343i (though mostly the former).
Since it garnered quite a bit of both, the likelihood of Halo 2: Anniversary has increased drastically. 343i has even stated that if Halo: Anniversary was a success, which it was, Halo 2: Anniversary would be all the more likely.
I will be very surprised (and disappointed) if Halo 2: Anniversary isn’t announced within a year. It would be a huge misstep of Microsoft not to make it.
Either way I’m gonna have a Halo 2 on my shelf lol.

No, if Microsoft was celebrating 10 years of Halo only there would have been a tribute from all the games during that time, not just one game being remade. They were celebrating CE without a doubt and the only reason they did it was to make money. Same type of reasoning they should have with H2A…an excuse to celebrate and they make money at the same time.

As others have stated…it would be in 2014 or after the anniversary if we get one. Also, I can just see the trailer line: “For the Spartans’ who remember, the Spartans’ who will never forget and the newest Spartans’…”
And yes I know that is similar to One other very popular and succesful movie saga. Which one…well lets see who REMEMBERS

Oh the amount of times I heard Halo CEA being a celebration of ten years of Halo leading up to launch was in high levels.
Halo Fest was a celebration of a mix of everything, little bit of canon/story, little bit of multiplayer, little bit of Reach, and of course, Halo 4.
They just need to remake Halo 2 and Halo 3 on the next gen xbox, but I can see that being very unlikely
i really doubt Halo 3 will be remade since it still passes as “new”, but the likelihood of H2A is pretty high since microsoft is in it for the profit.
take the new Army of Two game, the creators were planning on finishing the storyline at The 40th Day but EA demanded the franchise to become a trilogy

Halo Fest will happen every year imo, it had nothing to do with CEA. If anything, Halo Fest happened because of H4. Halo Fest is only to keep Halo in the headlines.
When/if H2A comes out, there will be a Halo Fest the same year imo, what will you say then? Another celebration of Halo in general? No, it will be about MS making money.
