I’ve been a Xbox gamer for a long time and the Halo franchise has gone in the right direction. With this new ‘Master Chief Collection on Xbox One,’ will us 360 gamers get Halo 2 Anniversary on the 360? I’ve been waiting for this announcement for years now, and I was sadly disappointed to see it was in this collection for the Xbox One. Will we be getting Halo 2 Anniversary on the Xbox 360 where it belongs?
No, Microsoft is looking to push sales for the Xbone.
I think that the Master Chief Collection should remain Xbox One exclusive. It is not just Halo 2, it is a collection of all the Master Chief games, plus the Halo 5 beta. I do not see how all of that could be contained on one disc for the 360.
> I think that the Master Chief Collection should remain Xbox One exclusive. It is not just Halo 2, it is a collection of all the Master Chief games, plus the Halo 5 beta. I do not see how all of that could be contained on one disc for the 360.
I do too, even though I do not have an XBOX ONE right now.
CARNAGE put it well. They’d have to have each game on four separate disks, which wouldn’t work with the way they have the matchmaking system set up to go cross-games. It would ruin the way they made it entirely. With making extra disks, that quadruples manufacturing costs, all for a watered down experience. Keeping it exclusive on Xbox One is the right call, and it should hopefully push X-One sales.
Besides, we already have Halo: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4 on the 360 as it is. So it would be entirely redundant to put it on both consoles.
OP, you should read some of the other threads on this topic mater, you’ll notice that most of them, I or others have pointed out the reason why they shouldn’t.

I was thinking the same, if there will Halo 2 Anniversary on the Xbox 360?
At least with no multiplayer. I just want campaign.

Not going to happen, it’s been said many times, and Frankie has even come right out and said there will be no Halo 2 Anniversary standalone nor a Xbox 360 version of Halo MCC.
It’s time for you guys to upgrade your system.
well that’s finally a reason to buy the one for me
360 is ready for the hall of fame, i guess

If you just want campaign, buy Halo 2. The campaign still works on your 360.
halo 2 anniversary comes out in the master chief collection the later sepretly halo 2 itself for xbox one then for 360 cause 360 games are getting backseated
matercheif collection xbox one :november 2014
halo 2 anniversary xbox one : december or january
halo 2 anniversary xbox 360: december thru feb 2015 all dedicated servers for all games and systems will be integrated
I asked a gamestop employee about just a Halo 2 Anniversary (not the whole collection) and he said that they had got an email saying there would be but no release date yet. If what this guy said is true at all, I would say it wouldn’t come out until after Christmas. That way -Yoink!- can push consoles with the whole collection.
In recent interviews, Frankie said that there were no plans to release H2A separately.
They want the whole experience on one console, one disc.

Yeah… No offence to Gamestop and their employees, but I wouldn’t trust that information. Microsoft has a good habbit of dropping last gen’s platform, and leaving the other in the dust. If a platform isn’t on their “Support” list, you might as well be bugs on the windshield to them.
As I and other have pointed out and said, don’t got expecting Halo 2 anniversary on the Xbox 360, Microsoft isn’t pushing for games on it.
They’re releasing all 4 Halo games on one disk, 60 frames, 1080p, dedicated servers.
The 360 simply isn’t capable of that, this isn’t a conspiracy.

Maybe YOU should just properly read the thread title. It’s not about having the collection itself which is games we all already have on the 360 except for H2A, it’s about having H2A on 360. Having the whole collection would be utterly pointless. H3 is sold anywhere for next to nothing, HCEA is pretty cheap too.
Thing is, out of the 7 pre-Xbox one Halo games, only Halo 2 is not available on the 360. Why wouldn’t it be released on 360 in the future? I think it will. They’ll just wait until all those who think about buying a xbox one for it will and release a standalone version for the 360 a couple of months after. And they’d make much more money that way. I can’t believe a lot of people would buy the xbox one solely for a remastered version of a game they already have, and pay the whole price for it.
Its not coming and never will. If you were a true Halo fan you would buy the xbox one and stop complaining, because you damn well know Halo 5 isn’t coming out on the xbox 360.

Not Going to Happen end of story.
343i has stated that they’re not releasing Halo 2 Anniversary as a stand alone game, let alone on the Xbox 360.
ALSO do your freaking math, out of the 7 “pre-Xbox One” Halo games, only 4, let’s count, Halo CE, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4, NOT Halo wars, NOT Halo Reach, NOT Halo ODST. The Xbox currently does NOT have backward compatibility like the Xbox 360 had, so you can’t play ANY of the past Halo games other than Spartan Assault on the Xbox One.
You want to play Halo 2 Anniversary, guess what, you’re going to have to buy a Xbox One. Halo is Microsoft’s flagship game, and to them, it sells Xboxs. If you don’t like it, TOUGH LUCK and join the club, it’s not going to change.
Also, in the quote I quoted.

Okay, No H2A on your Xbox 360, No H2A stand alone, you want to play Halo 2 on your Xbox 360, go find a used copy of Halo 2, if you want to play Halo 2 Anniversary with MP, you’ll have to get a Xbox One.
> Its not coming and never will. If you were a true Halo fan you would buy the xbox one and stop complaining, because you damn well know Halo 5 isn’t coming out on the xbox 360.
Cut the “True Halo fan” crap, you know what defines a true Halo fan? THAT YOU LIKE HALO, that’s it. I’m just as much as a “true” Halo fan as anyone else. It’s a BS term, so stop using it.

Because if they planned to do so in the future do you really believe they’d tell us? They’ll try to sell consoles first. Halo CE was supposed to be an xbox exclusive, guess what it was released on pc, same with 2. You might be right but only time will tell. It’s pretty naïve to trust them so much on the question. They are here to make money, they will tell us what will make them more money, simple.
> ALSO do your freaking math, out of the 7 “pre-Xbox One” Halo games, only 4, let’s count, Halo CE, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4, NOT Halo wars, NOT Halo Reach, NOT Halo ODST. What are you even talking about? ‘‘pre-Xbox One Halo games’’: Halo games before xbox one, or Halo games which were not originally released on xbox one, which means every Halo game so far. Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Halo 4, Halo Wars (which I didn’t even want to count but I did my math wrong it seems). Maybe you should do your freaking reading.

Though luck indeed, they’re a bunch of idiots if they think a freaking remaster of a game I already have is going to make be buy their system. I would just insult myself. I’d rather have a new console that costs a freaking 100 bucks less with no stupid kinect that will run better the games/potential games that I might eventually be interested in. Sorry but Halo is not a console seller anymore for me. They’ll have to stop cannibalizing themselves. And 343 better stop stealing someone else’s game, copy it and then circle jerk themselves because they’re doing something so cool and intelligent.

> You’re new to video games, aren’t you? Do you know what a port is? There’s tons of games available on pc and a multitude of consoles at the same time. Best example: Titanfall. Is Titanfall dumbed down because it’s also on the 360? They dumb down the 360 version, not the other way around. It’s old news. Besides, Halo 2 anniversary is just Halo 2 with a new coat of paint and new cinematics. It’s the very same engine and all than on the original Halo 2 which was on the first xbox, which is way inferior to the 360. If they can’t release a 10 year old game with a coat of paint with a bit less resolution and not on 600 FPS (which is totally unnecessary, I can’t notice a light blinking pass 400 ‘‘FPS’’) and stuff, when we’ve been doing true ports for ages, then they are truly incompetent. Besides, it’s just a coat of paint with a lot of stuff lifted from the past Halo games and Halo 4, with some new stuff of course. The xbox one version can’t be that good looking and all, it just can’t. The Halo CE anniversary looked worse than Reach. There’s just less polygons and stuff, it’s just a coat of paint. They can’t put infinite details on something which is inherently of low detail.

> You’re taking their word for it. If you take their word that Halo 2 Anniversary is not going to be a standalone (and the only reason for that is that it’d be released on 360) you gotta take their word that the collection isn’t happening for the 360. And it would be totally useless like I said. H2A is the only one not available on the 360, they’re not going to release a whole collection just so we can play it.
