Hi.
Solo Campaign load times are abysmal not to mention the random stutters/lag, and it gets worse when I want to play co-op with a friend. For him and the two others he played before it loads in mere seconds. For me the connection dies and loads me into my own game. PC’s not bad either, I can easily run Cyberpunk 2077 but somehow Halo 2 Anniversary is refusing to work properly. Tried reinstalling it completely but didn’t help (Steam version) and the file integrity thing didn’t work either. What is causing this problem and how do I fix it?

What kind of hard drive is MCC installed to, and what graphics card are you running?

2 TB drive
as for the card
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 Super

Your GPU should be okay. What resolution and graphics settings are you running? Is the 2TB drive a SATA or SSD?

SATA, 1440x900, Anti aliasing on, Detail quality high, Effect quality high, post processing quality normal, shadow normal, anisotropic filtering normal, texture resolution normal, V-sync on.

Your hard drive could be causing the stutters that you are seeing. I also was experiencing stuttering and inconsistent frame rates on my older PC. I just finished a new build which has a 2TB Samsung SSD for most of my games, and the stuttering has mostly disappeared. My GPU is an RTX 3090 however not a 1650, so there might be some differences. How old is your sata drive that you have MCC on? Does the stutters/variable FPS only occur with Halo 2 Anniversary, or are the other titles affected too? You can also try turning V-SYNC off and playing with unlimited frame rate.

The 2 TB drive is fairly recent, few months old, So far the stutter only happened on Halo 2 Anniversary, haven’t checked Halo 3/ODST or Halo 4 yet. I’ll see if turning v-sync off will change anything.
So far HCEA and H2A are the only campaigns I’m having constant freezing issues with. It’s really bad whenever you’re on the halo surface in both campaigns. I just made a post about how it’s concerning that this issues doesn’t appear on the known issues list for either games. Reach, 3, ODST and 4 campaigns are all running amazing. CE and 2 classic campaign versions are running perfect as well. I really hope they are aware and are planning a fix in the future. I find it interesting that its only Halos loading two engines at once that are having the freezing issues.
