Halo 2 Anniversary Forerunner Tank

Halo 2 Anniversary is obviously going to come out eventually, we can all tell that. The only problem is that Halo CEA wasn’t received as well as it should have because it was just a reskinned version of the old one (albeit there was that one Metroid Prime-esq scanning gimmick with the Kinect). Anyway to my main point, when they make H2A they should add something that would make it worth the buy, which is adding the levels that were cut from the original game. For those that don’t know, in the Halo 3 Legendary disc they discussed a few levels that were essentially replaced with cutscenes, these levels were:

-Covenant Ship
Instead of flying a bomb through space into the space cruiser at the beginning of the game, it was originally planned to have the Chief board the ship and tear it apart from the inside. Unfortunately this was replaced due to time constraints

-Forerunner Tank
This level was going to introduce Gravemind but was replaced by the cutscene that happens after Regret’s death. Originally Chief was to take control of a Forerunner Tank that would “move really fast, glow through little windows and blow stuff up”. The tank was going to be a moving piece of geometry similar to the Gondola in the game. The whole time Gravemind was going to have huge tentacles rushing around you like freight trains. This would be incredibly epic and maybe even introduce Forerunner vehicles that could be revisited in Halo 5?

-Forerunner Dreadnaught
We all hated the abrupt end to Halo 2, thats because it wasn’t supposed to happen. After boarding the Forerunner Dreadnaught there was a level planned that had Master Chief fighting his way to Truth, most likely ending in a boss fight and Chief jumping off the Dreadnaught. This may even had included a Warthog run.

There was also a whole 3rd act but that was ended up being Halo 3. What are your opinions? do you think that 343 should preserve Halo 2? or add a few refreshing new levels in?

I’ve always wanted these levels included in a Halo 2 remake. It’s unlikely, but it’d sure be awesome. The E3 demo would be a fantastic bonus level as well!

Halo 2 had sooo much potential and despite the loss of such great chances it still delivered. The missing content should be added as “free” DLC. To keep the original game intact for nostalgia reasons and every month a level or mission would be given freely to keep people playing the game.

Just an efficient way for -Yoink!- to keep people hooked on Halo for the long run.

Also the Flood Juggernaught should be added, it was already scripted in the game just not finished. 343i just pull it out, wipe off the dust, and finish what Bungie didn’t.

The Forerunner tank would be an amazing way to introduce a new Forerunner/Promethean Vehicle before H5 (if such a vehicle would be in it [War Sphinx]) Introducing a Forerunner Tank in H2A would already have the fanbase with knowledge of such vehicles, thus the introduction of the War Sphinx would not be a mere plot device as it comes out of the blue for those who only gather their knowledge of the Halo Lore from the Video Games.

Introducing it early would soften the sudden BOOOOOM here’s a muthaf***ing awesome Promethean vehicle mech thing out of the blue to tear your butt up. The premise of Forerunners/Prometheans having combat vehicles would indeed be in your favor and ease the thought process on how to introduce the War Sphinx in H5 because it is hinted at in H4 on Composer

Sierra 117 with Halo 2 mechanics and difficulty? I would buy!

Deleted levels would be nice too.

Well 343 has confirmed Halo 2 Anniversary isn’t being made, but I highly doubt the deleted missions will be implemented

Personaly I think that only the E3 demo should be added. And even then you should only get it when you beat the game at least once on each difficulty.

Chief? Ripping a Covie ship apart from the inside out?
…yesssss…

The Flood Juggernaught was a good idea, I never thought about that

I agree that without Forerunner tank it would confuse a lot of people like “why haven’t I encountered this before?” or “why do they have vehicles all of the sudden?” The tank would also make sense in Halo 2 because that is just oozing random badassery and would be visited with a more serious air in Halo 5.
