Halo 2 Anniversary Edition?

I was wondering if 343 would consider making this, and include the CLASSIC multiplayer as well. I’m just going to give you a warning and say that if you do bring back loadouts and AA’s, that the Anniversary Edition will fail. If you leave it exactly the same and retool the graphics and physics engines, I think the online population on that game would easily surpass Halo 4’s.

That is all.

if they kept a separate multiplayer, but not maps for halo 5, leave mechanics and such alone, keep the game in the state the final TU left it

I love this idea, H2 is the one game in the series I never got to play (unless we’re counting Halo Wars). Keeping the multiplayer pretty much stock (well with the TUs) is an excellent idea.

But if 343i have to ‘tweak’ it, here are my suggestions, how they should go about it:

  1. If they feel they have include the weapons from Reach/H4, in custom options for weapon sets, include a ‘Classic H2’ that only has the weapons that H2 featured.

  2. If they feel the need to add H4 loadouts, etc, DON’T!!! At the most, maybe add equipment, possibly AAs, but have it a custom options selection setting. Something along the lines of, Original (no Equipment/AAs), Classic (Equipment) & Spartan III (AAs).

  3. Plan to include sprint? Then make it a custom options setting, Classic (H2 movement) & Modern (sprint enabled).

At least from July: http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mission/21159/halo-2-anniversary-edition-not-in-the-works

So, unlikely, and even if they do bring it back remastered I doubt they’ll incorporate the MP, maybe bring some maps in for H4 like they did with H:CEA

i would love to see that.sounds like a great idea even if they bring only the multiplayer back as a marketplace dlc only

I think they said they were going to work on it during a interview

343i can do the campaign, you’ll just have to convince Certain Affinity to use the PERFECTLY FINE ENGINE AND GRAPHICS THAT ARE IN THEIR HANDS!
Certain Affinity could have used what 343i did with the campaign to make the multiplayer …BUT NOPE!

I’d be happy with Halo 2 just being released as an XBLA title.

Everyone would get bored with a Halo 2 Anniversary within weeks, especially with its own multiplayer.
Nostalgia only makes it seem otherwise.

Speak for yourself, I still play Reach, H3 & up until I sold my PC, I was still playing Quake, Quake II, Unreal Tournament, etc. Good gameplay can win out over flashy new graphics, just look at Minecraft…

I would love a halo 2 anniversary with MP but it is very unlikely because it will interfere with the population of the main titles or any other projects 343 make entirely by themselves. But give me a remake of the campaign and I’d play that all day.

Why is this in the “HALO 4” section?

But that wont happen. The people that REALLY want a Halo 2 Anniversary are the ones that were addicted to the BXR, glitched filled, infinite sword multtplayer. And you know that if they make it, it will be just like Halo: CEA. campaign given a shiney new paint of coat with the current Halo’s multiplayer.

So I really think people need to quit asking about it.

I’d love seeing Halo 2 in shiny graphics. Especially the campaign.

Imagine it in Halo 4 graphics, even the CEA engine would be spectacular!

Multiplayer for it is an interesting subject. I’d rather not have them attempt to remake it in Halo 4 or 5… but I don’t want them to spend so much time the main game like Halo 5 doesn’t come out good. Anniversary was good because of the timing and how they didn’t need to do much aside from the campaign. Halo 2 would be a lot bigger.

I’d get it for campaign.

But that would be saying Halo 2 had good gameplay, which it kinda didn’t.

that’s your opinion. if they released a H2 anniversary, you’d never hear from me again.

The original halo 2 mm should be in if 343i makes it. The “old” community had to deal with changes the “new” community supported, it would be nice if the “new” community saw how halo used to be played, especially those who started with reach. Then the “old” community wouldn’t complain as much.

I know there are reach starters on here who have never touched halo 2, because I’ve seen people post how swat started with the dmr. Those people need to sell their halo games and stop calling themselves fans, because that is a disgrace to this once competent community.

But in all honesty, if 343i ends up doing a halo 2 anniversary dlc for halo 4 like what was done with halo CEA and reach, they’re just digging a bigger hole for themselves. It’s the difference between doing what is easy, or what is more rewarding. They don’t have to worry about splitting up the community, halo 4 has already done that. These forums are the proof.

BXR and RRX should be back, as well.

If you’re going to remaster the whole game, remaster the glitches.

CEA brought glitches back, so a H2A better, too.

No because Halo 2 took skill, and Microsoft is not down with that.
That’s why they were glad to get rid of Bungie.

They’re all sniveling and snickering their offices, “lolBungie”, “lolskill-gap”,
“lolHalo”.

But don’t worry, there’s still some value they find in it - money, money, money!
Buuut one catch - they’ll use Halo 5’s easy–Yoink- multiplayer for it! That’s right folks, get it while it’s hot, because it’ll die quick, and in a few months, 343i will remove it from matchmaking, disregarding anyone who bought it!
See, The only difference is that they’ll remake maps from Halo 2.

And if you noobs be real good, they might even make the campaign hitbox’s bigger!

If they did make an anniversary, I pray to god they dont touch the games physics. however, I fear that they would.
