Halo 2 Anniversary, Don't -Yoink- it up 343

343 what I’m about to tell you is going to A.)make you rich, and B.) Make your job sooooo much easier. Both things I know you love.

All you have to do to make the easiest multi-millons dollars of your life is to update the graphics for Halo 2. THATS IT.

Don’t mess with any game mechanics or add any armour abilities or mess with anything like that. (Yes even keep superbouncing and BxRing)

Just update the graphics, maybe throw in a theatre mode if your not too busy and…

BAM!!! everyone will buy your game, and the best part is everyone will love it…

(unlike your most recent projectHalo 4)

This sounds like a spectacular idea to me too, but remember, 343 knows what we find fun better than we know what we find fun and want.

For example, Halo 2’s 1-50 ranks may seem fun to us, but really Halo 4’s nothingness replacing them is more fun to us even though we don’t know that. And armor abilities are actually fun to us, 343 knows that even though we don’t know that.

For example there are actually 613,000 players having fun in halo 4 right now, but we don’t know that, it just seems like to us no one is having fun with halo 4!

Hellova quote.

You seem to think that just because they remake Halo 2 they’ll automatically include Halo 2’s multiplayer. They won’t do that, not in a million years. They need numbers on Halo 4 and that’s what they’ll aim for.

> You seem to think that just because they remake Halo 2 they’ll automatically include Halo 2’s multiplayer. They won’t do that, not in a million years. They need numbers on Halo 4 and that’s what they’ll aim for.

They’ve already done that once and it didn’t work out too well. MS does need numbers…in the form of dollars. If they do an H2A MP right, the numbers will be incredible for a short while. During that short run any old H2 MP fans that are not on Live will jump back on and there may be people from other platforms that give the old Halo 2 one more try. Once back on Live people will not just play H2, we Halo fans jump from game to game, very few players only play one Halo and nothing else, imo. So, if H2 is popular, it will mean an actual boost for H4 and H5 after that because Halo players do not leave a Halo game for good, we simply play different Halo’s at different times. All of the new players, no matter the stratos that they come from will want to play all the Halo’s at some point.

Within 6 months H2 will be down to low numbers again and H5 can have it’s own glory but it has to be good enough on it’s own merits. We are all sitting, waiting to see if 343 has courage enough to do H2 right. Then they can talk about numbers, but in millions of dollars of revenue.

Don’t worry, they won’t screw it up because they aren’t going to do it. Don’t you know there are more important things than remaking one of the best video games in Xbox history. You know like Spartan Ops season 2. The new season that will feature mind numbingly awesome things like taking up 5 GBs on your hard drive and going to an objective, shooting some Covies, going to an objective, then shooting some more Covies. As opposed to last season where we went to an objective, shot some Covies, then went to an objective, and then started shooting some more Covies. (Sarcasm if you couldn’t tell)

Ok, one they didn’t screw up the first Halo anniversary. Also I would hate if H2 was an exact remake, I wouldn’t buy it (actually that’s a lie I would buy every Halo game) they should have classic mode and remastered mode, apart from visual upgrades, have a mode that plays with assassinations, bouncing HUD, etc all the new stuff. I would really want that.

Then there would be no reason to remake Halo 2. Halo 2’s legacy was on its multiplayer. imo Halo 2 had the best campaign but its legacy was always the multiplayer.

Back when Halo 2 released, people laughed at the idea of matchmaking and demanded the online be only custom game searching like Halo PC. Now everyone who enjoys console games loves matchmaking and that includes Halo 2’s.

There is no reason to remake a game if you are not going to include the feature people want the remake for in the first place.

I agree. Halo 2 was my favorite of the Halo series. I frequently think: “If Bungie had fixed the cheating (standby, modding, etc.) to have a True 1- 50 Ranking System and simply just kept adding new maps, I would still be playing it. Even after a DECADE.”

I won’t buy a Halo 2 remake of if the multiplayer component isn’t available.

I want it for the HD remastered campaign and achievements, etc. I don’t want a remastered multiplayer. I don’t care if it’s legacy is matchmaking. Halo 2 Anniversary needs to happen. NEEDS. lol
