Halo 2 Anniversary Discussion/Ideas

I REALLY hope they make a anniversary of Halo 2. I remember playing it when it came out. It was just amazing. It’s one of my all time favorite games. I know a lot of people were mad that CEA didn’t have original CE multiplayer…because when CE was came out, there was no Xbox Live. Instead if you wanted to play online multiplayer, you had to do either split screen or connected into a Ethernet hub. So that’s why 343i was probably not able to do that. It would’ve made no sense to make a remake of the multiplayer if that was the way to play “online.” I just wanted to point that out since I don’t think a lot of people knew that about the original CE multiplayer.

Now for Halo 2. Now I know it hasn’t been confirmed, but these are my ideas/advice for 343i on what I think they should do. I think there should be a total graphical overhaul–Campaign and multiplayer (Obviously). Since 343i owns the rights to Halo, maybe (somehow) they can open up the original Halo 2 servers and use them. If they can’t, they should try to clone that engine over onto modern day servers and go from there with all the maps (including the DLC maps that we can no longer play) graphically overhauled. If they can do that, this Anniversary would be so amazing. But there runs a bit of a problem though. They would want this to appeal to the Halo vets and the newer fans. So I think for multiplayer, there should be two types-Original Halo 2 multiplayer and playlists and current Halo multiplayer and playlists on Halo 2’s maps of course. So that way, people who want to play the original Halo 2 multiplayer and playlists can play that while the newer players could also enjoy it with the current Halo’s multiplayer and playlists. Though, they might run into a problem because of two different game engines. But I bet 343i could figure it out. And even add forge too! Imagine being able to forge on the classic Halo 2 maps!?

But I think if 343i did what I said in terms of multiplayer there, it could appeal to a wider audience and make more money. And if a Halo 2 Anniversary came out before the next gen, (for some reason) I think it should be cross-platform since the 720 is said to come out in the next year or so. But most likely it will come out on the 720, but I still think it would be a good for a cross-platform. Again, appeal to more audiences and more profit to be made. I really think that if they did what I said, they would make a solid anniversary and good profit. Even if it delayed Halo 5 a bit, I wouldn’t care! Halo 2 was my favorite game and I’m dying for a remake, a solid remake. And I honestly think the best way to do a sold remake is do what I said above, or follow my ideas or guidelines.

So with that being said, what do you think?

I really loved doing super jumps in Halo 2 when I used to have an orginal xbox. Even though they were glitches, they made the game more fun.

If 343 could implement a way for us to make are own super jumps, that would make Halo 2 Anniversary very fun.

As far as the campaign goes, I think they should put the Halo2 and Halo3 campaigns together since the Halo3 camp was originally the second half of Halo2, which Bungie didnt have enough time to incorperate. So it should be one continuous long campagin with about 25 missions or so. That would mean 4 player coop in H2 in which maybe the players could be 2 Master Chiefs and 2 ODSTs?

As far as the multiplayer is concerned, if you want to play Halo 2 online at its very best, just simply play Halo 3! Lol! Halo 3 online is essentially Halo 2 online…Perfected! If there was going to be a “New” multiplayer then I think they should incorperate all of the Halo 2 XBOX and Halo 1&2 PC maps(original and remade versions)even if they have to be released as DLC over time. But there was to be a remake, I think they should upgrade the graphics of course but use Halo 3’s physics engine.

Ridiculous post, H3 MP is not anywhere near the same as H2 and suggesting they combine H2 CMP with H3 CMP tells me you never played H2. Absurd, go play H3 and leave the H2 people be.
