Recently I have heard rumors regarding halo 4 about its multiplayer population slowly dropping. I myself think that multiplayer in halo 4 is ok but it does have alot of dramatic changes to it that 343 should have slowly walked us through. However Halo 3 shall always be my favourite game in the halo franchise… which is why im here. Halo 3 was my first halo game and after playing the campaign I was hooked and I subscribed to Xbox Live. I wanted to get to know the story better so I bought Halo CE and Halo 2. This was dating back before Halo 3 ODST was even announced so I was able to experience some of halo 2’s multiplayer which I could not get enough of! However halo 3 always stole me away.
I was playing halo 3 the other day and it brought back memories of halo 2 and I wondered what if they made halo 2 anniversary not just with campaign, but with its multiplayer aswell! Of course halo 2 had a few bugs of its own and they would probebly need cleaning up (or not) but with a multiplayer like halo 2 with updated graphics like halo 3, It would be an EMENCE game for xbox! Updated graphical armor, maps and weapons would bring back the multiplayer that halo 3 had! If you played halo 3 between its release and Halo: Reach release then you can remember how popular it was and how a game like that was respected so much! You could regain that experience with halo 2 anniversary! It would just be so cool seeing that good old halo community that never wanted to leave halo. All I can say to 343 is that its worth a shot and it sounds like good idea to me so I really hope you take it into concideration 343 and bring back the goodold multiplayer that we all know and love.
Additional: Seeing as the Mjolnir mk VI was in halo 2 it would be great if 343 could use halo 3’s multiplayer armour in the remake aswell. I love the idea of me back in my old scout armor in halo 2’s bloodgultch, caugulation or whatever it was called

Halo 5, or a new side-story-game similar to Halo 3 ODST should be what they need to focus on.

It would be very cool. It would also get Halo back on the MLG Circuit. But I also agree with EmptyLearner. 343I should focus on the future. Maybe they could get Certain Affinity and Saber Interactive to work on Halo 2: Anniversary.

That argument means nothing. MS is a corporation with many departments…this allows a corporation to multitask on as many levels as they want and one department does not affect the others to a degree that they can’t ‘concentrate’ on their project. 343 is but one department and departments can be divided in to sections where, again, multitasking can take place successfully without affecting the goals of other sections.
To argue that 343 can only concentrate on one thing at a time is ludicrous, all 343 has to do is hire the right amount of people and they are backed by one of the richest corporations in the world. One section works on H2A and the other section works on H5 and if it’s organized right, they might even collaborate and make H5 even better.
For the record, do not call us ‘former Halo fans’, we are just as much fans of Halo as you buster so don’t come here to the H2 forum and insult us.
Throw the anniversary map pack “2” in halo 4 and bring back halo 2 campaign with a fresh coat of paint. Can’t be that hard. That’s exactly what they did with Reach and Halo CE. Get to it 343.
I completely agree OP. If anything, it would give 343 and Microsoft a butt-load of money, so it’s really a stupid decision to not make it. Hope for the best, right?
Just put it on xbox live arcade i would drop 4000 MS points on that in a heartbeat.

I Loved halo 2’s Multiplayer And i think a remake of halo 2 Would be Awesome.I love its campaign because the level are short so if theres one you really like can just play it instead of playing a long 1-2 hour level. Plus halo 2 had some of the best levels and multiplayer maps.
IF 343 and MS does end up releasing Halo 2 Anniversary, I highly doubt that it will have the proper multiplayer. I suspect they might just bring back some Halo 2 remakes and put those maps in Halo 4’s matchmaking. As they did with Reach and CE:A. Halo 2 multiplayer was good for it’s time but nostalgia is always better than the real thing…
I love Halo 2. In fact, it’s is my favorite Halo game. But I wouldn’t expect to see a Halo 2 anniversary. Here are the reasons why.

Halo CEA needed a remake because it was the only game that needed full attention.

Would 343i really spend all of their money making another remake.

It would be released in 2014 which is more than a year away, which is when Halo 5 should come out.

There is already a planned “Reclaimer Trilogy”.

Overall Halo 2 is a stupendous game but we just have to leave it alone. Do you really want the game ruined with an anniversary? We can’t ruin Bungie’s masterpiece. But I do have high hopes for 343’s upcoming games.
