> Look. If Phil Spencer is saying “We’ve been talking about it, considering it”, in an interview only a few days old, I take that word more than a twitter response from May.
- You usually get a variety of responses if you ask a developer what they have planned. Some of those are usually “We can’t talk about that at this time.”, “We aren’t doing that at the moment.” or “It isn’t currently on our list of things to do.”
They don’t want to close out the option of it happening cause it may very well, but like I’m constantly saying, there is no reason for it to happen.
People only ever remember the good things about Halo 2, hence the nostalgia references I made a post or two ago. They don’t remember all the bad times about it because they simple don’t want to.
- You claim it is a fan favourite, but do you honestly have the numbers to back that up? Let’s face it, Halo 2 on the original Xbox had an extremely low amount of players up until they announced the original Xbox LIVE service was going to shut off, and then it got a minor population boost until it was shut down.
Also, Halo 2 is still available to play, via the Xbox LIVE service on PC, although it is a pretty poor port. You can also use third party softwares like Xbox Connect to play Halo 2 on Xbox with other players, there is a pinned topic for that in the Halo 2 section of these forums as well.

As for what Phil Spencer said, do you know the date he last talked about Halo 2 Anniversary with the top guys at 343i? It could have been before May, prior to bs angel’s tweet for all we know, which could have resulted in her finally saying “it isn’t on our list of things to do” instead of just ignoring the tweets like before or giving other generic answers.
Once again, there is absolutely no reason for Halo 2 Anniversary to happen, the numbers you see on the internet that support H2A are miniscule compared to the overall Halo population, it seems huge because this forum itself is dominated by requests for it on a daily basis and with only 545k members, 3/4 likely don’t even post, I wouldn’t exactly call it a fan favourite to return in any way.
