Does anyone want the halo 2 and 3 duel wielding back as a op unlock that you can get from a kill streak or something?
Duel wielding as a gameplay mechanic was always off. The weapons had to be tuned and this really hurt weapons like the pistol and plasma rifle. The only commonly used weapon combos were probably smgs and magnums. I think it would be cool to see custom game only duel wield weapons because they look pretty awesome, but they don’t really serve a purpose in matchmaking.
Nope. Dual wielding felt redundant and inefficient. It basically doubled your terrible gun count.

No. In order for Dual-Wielding to be balanced the dual-wieldable weapons had to be nerfed insanely. I don’t want the magnum or SMG to become useless without a second one.
I absolutely LOVED dual-wielding in Halo 3. But…as far as balance and gameplay is concerned, I think dual-wielding is gone from Halo forever. To make it not overpowered, the individual weapons need to be garbage. And I think it slows down gameplay. I like the one weapon system. I originally was bummed out, but I loved the beta, so I’m alright with it.
Duel wielding would be tight
I don’t, honestly. I like the SMG how it is in Halo 5, and if they were to allow dual wielding it’d either have to be nerfed so it does almost no damage, or be a complete power house that eviscerates enemies in seconds.
No. I do not want to have a huge selection of guns nerfed and waste twice as much ammo just so I can hold 2 guns.
This is best version of the SMG and dual wielding would ruin that, so no I don’t want dual wielding back. Never brought anything great to halo to begin with.
Absolutely not. They had to mega-nerf so many weapons to make it work. There was a list of how many shots it took a plasma pistol to kill and it looked like this:
Halo CE: 15
Halo 2: 25
Halo 3: 26
Reach: 12
Halo 4: 16
Notice how it takes almost twice as many shot in Halo 2-3 compared to the others? Yeah, let’s not let that happen again.
I don’t because many people, including myself, never really even used it and It also creates imbalance among weapon.
Nah, id rather not have it, looks cool but it causes too many issues
Any weapons that could be dual wielded in the past are now very useful, I don’t want them to go back to being useless.

Smgs’ were underpowered in H2. H3’s Smg was very powerful up close by itself. So, yes it was very balanced.

Pretty much this. The way in which duel wielding was implemented in H2 and H3 are directly responsible for the battle rifle being the only non-power weapon worth using. I’d rather write it off as a lost cause, especially after having seen the superb job 343 has done so far in balancing the sandbox, than continue making tweaks. Not to say that duel wielding couldn’t work though.

It was a smart move. the SMG, pistol, plasma pistol and needler are much deadlier now than they ever were with dual-wielding.
