Does anyone have any charts or info on the population over time for Halo 3 or 2 for Halo 4 comparison purposes? I tried googling it and got a chart someone created in google spreadsheet that showed the Halo 3 population over 2 months in 2009 as varying from 170k to 250k+ but I’m not sure how accurate it is.
Lets just say that Halo 4’s population is no where near what they anticipated it to be. I remember what Halo 3’s was when it was first released. Close to around 400,000+
Halo 4 is at a whooping 50,000 daily, 100,000 on a good day.
Hardly a suprise when you completely overhaul the games original formula in order to steal fans from a already good existing FPS , 343 & MS got what they deserved
They don’t even compare. Halo 3 would pull in 200,000 + spanning over a year out.
It would be depressing to compile Halo 4 into a graph with H2 and 3.
I keep finding random old threads talking about Halo 3 and Reach but it’s hard to tell how they got the info. Like was it total unique players over the day or peak population at one given time during the day or what? But I found a thread that had a graph showing Reach with 700+ thousand over the December after its release (2010) with it occasionally breaking a million. Not sure how it was collected though.

You mean 7 million copies sold? Yeah I bet they’re really upset…
lol, another population thread.
This might help…

Thanks. I’m really just looking for stats but it’s looking like everyone just wants to rant.
halo 3 was the last proper amazingly good halo tbh, then on its slowely gone down hill, halo 4 has gone up a little from reach in some ways but halo 3 was perfect in every way!!
7 million sold and not any of them want to play the game. at peak hours the most i see online is 40-50k. now thats a slap in 343’s face.

40-50k at one time. Not everybody who owns Halo 4 is online at the same time as everyone else.
Not saying that excuses any faults with Halo 4, just saying that judging it based on the online population at one moment is a flawed way to look at things.
More on topic: Who would actually take the time to dig up and create charts detailing the population of a game? It won’t tell the studio anything they don’t already know…

Anytime I see you post, I am going to classify you as a troll, because quite frankly I am getting sick of your negativity for Halo 4. Just leave already if you hate the game so much.

Nor would it mean anything to anyone else. You would have to account for changes in the size of the effective xbox live population too which (having looked into it myself) isn’t something you can pull on a month/month basis.
Just leave this “blerg…POPULATION! I’m right, Halo SUX!” nonsense alone kids. You don’t have the stats nor the capacity to handle them.

No, it’s not a flawed way. The myth you’re perpetuating now has been disproven many times before.
and why not count Reach?
