Halo 2 1-50 ranking system was better than h3

Discuss.

Halo 2> Halo 3 > Halo 4 > Reach

Even without a ranking system, I rank 4 above Reach. Never will forgive bungie or that game for starting the downward spiral

Should be posted in the forums for Halo 2 bud

I disagree. In Halo 2 it was essentially impossible to get a legitimate 50.

D:
Halo Reach was awesome.

I wasn’t a big fan of Halo 2 and 3 ranking systems. It was nearly impossible to get a legit 50, not to mention all the ranked playlists were flooded with guys who planned to sell their accounts.

I hit 50 in h3 in like a week. not even funny.

I never hit 50 at h2. but I am proud of my legit 41

No. This is totally relevant to the bulletin. because in game or not. raking system is coming and yet they havent said how is going to be like.

In which game. In halo 2 it was extremely hard, but because it was hard it brought relevance to the lower ranks. Having a rank of 30+ meant you where really good. On the other hand in Halo 3 it was ridiculously easy to reach the ceiling. Most people who had a 20+ rank in halo 2 got a 50 in halo 3. Lumping 30 levels from one game into one rank leads to vast differences in skill at that rank and all other ranks became less relevant. In halo 3 all good players had 50’s but not all 50’s where good players. Compared to halo 2 where good players where more accurately graded do to the difficulty.

I had several accounts with legit 50s in halo 3, my highest rank was 41 in halo 2. I couldn’t reach 50 with all of the modders and lag switch games that came after 40.

Yes. H3 ranking system sucked both pre update and post update.

H2 system was great, do well and win go up, do bad and lose go down, no exp B.S.

are you me?!?!?

True. And honestly, anyone who knows anything knows that Halo 2’s ranking system was better. Cheers

And for people who don’t think any progress was made between H2 and H3…how about axing people’s ability to cheat. To standby and boot and fly around the map. Come on! Bungie put the -Yoinking!- AX down on cheaters in Halo 3.

hahaha… Im not sure at all.

also being in a good clan was awesome. I used to share clans with competitive gamers and it was even easier to find a good party. 343 should definitely hire me to save them.

That is the point. Stop looking at these ranks from the perspective of a progression system where anyone should be able to get the highest rank. A small minority of players should be getting 50’s, while the majority of the player base is between 20-30. You want to solve the selling accounts issue: make it near impossible to get a 50 so only the best players can achieve it.

The harder the system is, the better. You didn’t see any problems with people selling accounts in H2, and that was because only the best, or modders, could get that high. With the more advanced anti-cheating methods we’ve seen in H3 and Reach, a Halo 2 ranking system would be perfect.

I pray for this in halo 4 everyday, and i disagree with the next comment.

Seeing as this topic is apparently about Halo 2’s ranking system, let’s move it over to the Halo 2 forum

Halo 3’s ranking system was stupid. Halo 2’s ranking took the most skill by far

HALO 2 rankin system was by far the best and most accurate. HALO 3’s rankin system was ok, but nowhere close to halo 2. Those of you that didnt get to experience halo 2 online ask someone who did. old-schoolers know best!
