halo 1

I remember the fun I had with halo 1
college(so plenty of time to play unless it was testing time)

community was awesome
no xbox live, so you had to REALLY want to play.
-LAN parties-bringing xbox to a friends house and playing in separate rooms
-tunneling software added online capabilities
you couldn’t voice chat at first but the text messages talking trash were just as good in our minds

then I found out about something called ********, stumbled upon a page that had people ******* the maps on halo(long before forge was thought of)
decided to give it a go, and boy, did I find out what the halo community was about? people sharing ideas for what to import from campaign into the MP maps.
there are some really awesome maps, my favorite was one where there were hundreds of trees placed in bloodgulch. this community alone had me playing my copy of halo 1 looooong after halo 3 was released

that said, the greatest feature I think halo has been missing since it was created is a public game lobby
-change a filter for the map/game/objective and see what is out there
you “meet” many new people with similar interests and it breaks the monotony of some of the voting that happens in MM

anyway, the last few weeks I feel like all the hate in the community has gotten out of hand and decided to offer a thought that MAY take a little bit of the sting out of the launch issues… I know this wont fix whats wrong, and not saying it should be worked in YET, but it would be nice to add some life to the game at some point

Nothing beats the classics

Memories (sniffle). There is however this:
