Halo 1-3 Tutorial start *look up or down*

Hello community!

You remember back when you would play Halo 1, Halo 2 or Halo 3 at the start it would ask you to look up? Well this clearly was asking ‘Do you play inverted,’ why does it not do this in the newer games? I find it extremely annoying when I have to go all the way into the menu and click what BS I want to use, Bungie clearly put every single drop of character into their old games. Let’s respect their legacy by adding small details like this.

Thanks!

PS post small details you remember and loved in these old games <3

Punching the backpacks off of dead grunts

That E3 trailer was actually the intro cutscene to the game so if I had to guess that part where the pilot boots up Chief’s armour and you see the code and “continue” prompt, that’s where the look up/down stuff will be put. Also how do you play inverted you absolute mad man haha

I wouldn’t mind something like that being in the game for new players, but if someone changes their controller settings before starting the campaign it should automatically skip that part. The first thing I do when I get a new fps game is to change the settings to inverted. Of course if I didn’t have to go into the settings anyways for bumper jumper I guess it would be nice to not have to deal with the menu

The only time I might use inverted is perhaps for flying.

It was certainly a nice way to slowly introduce the player to the control scheme. But I also liked how (at least in MCC) the higher difficulties skipped this part all together.

Its not about that, its about small details to make the game seem like it matters… These devs dont really put too much “love” in my personal opinion Halo 4 did, but all the other games had less obvious love. Remember Halo4’s release? You can see the special edition copies at the first room you spawn in, AND you can see a little terminal that changes depending on whether or not you’re a veteran of Halo .

As I said it’s just a little detail that shows the devs actually care about making the game accessible and easier to get in to. Small details is what I honestly hope to see more of from 343, it is something they have been lacking since 2012
