Halo 1.09 WINDOWS 8 Issues

I have been installing Halo on just about every service pack I have been on. However, when updating Halo to 1.09 on Windows 8, campaign will not work.

Example- After finally updating to 1.09 and not needing a disc…

  1. Start up Halo
  2. Go to campaign and your prompted to select the difficulty
  3. Select any difficulty and begin the campaign
  4. As soon as the campaign is supposed to load the Pillar of Autumn introduction cut-scene, the game closes and says ‘gathering exception data’.

ANY 1.0-9 patch makes campaign inaccessible.
HOWEVER-
CAMPAIGN ONLY WORKS ON WINDOWS 8 IF YOU DO NOT GET ANY UPDATES.

Why does Halo 1.09 not work on Windows 8?

The update was designed to work with Windows OS well before Windows 8 existed. So, the W8 OS is probably so different from past OS versions that the update can’t work with that OS.

Would be nice to get a 1.10 patch… There are no Halo shooters on Xbox One and only ancient PC’s have other Halo’s that work…

They should let thread authors close threads if they are no longer needed.
