So the first part of the novel, called The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor, takes place during the Halo CE level 343 Guilty Spark. A dropship containing samples of the flood escapes the ring and boards a Covenant agricultural ship, the Infinite Succor, where Rtas 'Vadumee or Half-Jaw is sent to investigate the boarding. At the time of the outbreak, he is sparring with another Elite, Bero Kusovai, who comes with Rtas to the Infinite Succor. Long story short, the Flood take over the ship, infect everyone, and Rtas escapes, but not without fighting an infected Kusovai. During the fight, the infected Elite manages to slice off Rtas’s LEFT mandibles. Kusovai is defeated, Half-Jaw leaves on a Phantom and the Infinite Succor is sent on a crash course with Threshold’s sun.
Oh, damn. Well thanks for the info. That particular graphic novel is hard to find around where I live, so I’ve never had the chance to read it.
