Half the people in LSS today are intentionally dying to complete the "Complete LSS matches" challenge

Some are spinning in the center of the map waiting to get hit then jumping into the lava pit.

Another example of the challenge system encouraging negative player behavior.

Frankly: that’s also to blame on the gamemode. With the big skill gaps in the mode (in my experience it has the same very loose SBMM as normal BTB modes have) on top of the extreme bias towards the better players (those will be getting better weapons and infinite amounts of OS/AC) it is just unplayable if you are not (one of) the better skilled players in the match. The game itself is already setting up people to only function as killing feed, since they have no chance of fighting back in this extremely biased gamemode (how are you supposed to win a firefight against a better skilled player, if that better skilled player also has better weapons, an AC/OS and a spare AC/OS?)

I’ve still only completed two of the challenges. I start work early too so there’s no chance I’ll get any more done either.

People need to stop worry about challenges so much and just focus on having fun in the modes they do enjoy playing I think.

There’s always one per game but not half the lobby.

Not going to lie, I’m tempted to do the same (but won’t).

LSS isn’t for me, doesn’t have the Halo feel that I enjoy. Weird as I love PUBG. Only playing the mode to complete challenges, which is another issue in itself.

While doing the event I’ve done the same, stack two quick loses and then play a regular match to the win. You get more daily games and Challenges done that way. Which also means you get more out of Double XP in shorter time.

How the challenge system is affecting player behaviour was known from the very start. It should been obvious in the planing stage and until we get a proper meta progression implemented, (Which is still far away?) there will be little reason for “proper” play. I guess lot of players just want to progress the Event or Pass and be done. Playing normaly while ignoring the challenges just feels like a waste.

I did expect this…

These people would probably also complain if there was an achievement for just hitting the jump button a few times during any given match. They want everything handed over to them for free instead of having to put any level of effort to obtain it themselves.

Dear lord lol, these are of the easiest ones to actually do too.

Im going to be completely honest, I did this. I kind of enjoyed playing LSS at the beginning of the week but after being forced to constantly play it to complete challenges especially having to go through 3 score challenges of 5000+ none of which were at the same time, I was done!!!

It also doesnt help when towards the end of the week the games always had 2-3 try hards that just destroyed everyone else in the lobby.

So in conclusion yes I intentionally died to complete the weekly and dont feel bad at all. Especially if it helped others complete their melee, kill, score challenges.

The challenge system in this game is a joke and ruins gameplay. This is why you have players in every game that are just working on challenges instead of playing the objective throwing the game for everyone else. If you could work on all challenges at the same time instead of just 4 it would help.

Absolutely correct, and I’ve had to stop myself from going for challenges in order to enjoy playing the game.

But I will state that challenges are indeed creating that conflict of interest that we were worried about before launch, at least for players concerned about returns on investment.

At least it’s a free for all mode

If they do that, they miss out on the rewards, some of which are really cool and exclusive to the Event. Some people really want those rewards.

i feel like this would be happening if the progression system wasnt just tied to the challenge system.

Oh yea just scrap the effing challenge system.

I dont enjoy the mode, mostly because of the leveling system. Could be chalked down to skill gap, but by the time ive found someone, they are 3 weapons ahead

XP from challenges should be a minor bonus amount, while you should get more XP for doing things that are based on the objective of the game mode.

Why they made XP from challenges to be the main focus doesn’t make sense.

Oh 100%. I said challenges would be bad before the game came out. It is a nice way to get your headshots or melees though!
