my dude everything you just said!! I agree heavily on the store closing because it speaks volumes about priorities… but it wont…thats what you can expect from it now…bye bye Halo, make room for Paylo infinite
You misread my post, i quoted this from you (specifically this part)
And yeah, its not tho.
I mean its high enough priority to get an entire paragraph in the update which is more than can be said about what you and I would consider major issues such as desync and matchbreaking.
You said yourself, its a quick fix, not sure how much of a cascading effect that would create.
Except thats what the PR dude said… specifically. Word for word almost. But yeah ok, all is fine and dandy. Here, let me post it again.
If only eh? They could call it something like Halo Insiders and have people that are registered that have provided lots of testing previously on things they could call flights…
Oh wait, they do. Source: Im part of that.
Please tell me which update they have addressed the desynch issues?
As was I,
As soon as I saw that the game wasn’t going to launch with co-op or forge I said delay it again, becuase if those features are missing I posed the question “what other features will be missing or half-baked” I was trashed on these forums…and now…here we are
Sad part is that at its core…the game is solid…its good…IMO best offering since H3 and witha few tweaks (I’m looking at you no player collision) it could be great, but its becomming even more evident if it wasn’t already crystal clear monitization is their main concern
It truly is. When it works and everything clicks… its amazing. GOTY material (imo). Its got everything that made H2 and H3 the classics they are regarded as today. Its just too bad it was kicked out the door in such a state that 90% of the time its a buggy frustrating mess.
I have to remind myself that games are not what they used to be. They are mass market mass appeal profit driven juggernaut’s these days where push it now patch it later rules as king.
Such a shame.
They need to issue a recall like car companies do. Like shut down the servers and have everyone mail back their discs.
Sure, but literally everything else in my post is correct.
You do realize the community folks responsible for writing updates aren’t responsible for triage meetings, right?
Of course you don’t, because you have no idea what you’re talking about.
No, that’s not. He said it’s a low priority issue, and their higher priority tasks are on Season 2. He says literally nothing about the store.
There is a live testing environment right now that you can play in which they test fixes ahead of time? They’re actively making changes to this environment ahead of time to verify those fixes?
What on earth are you talking about and what does that have to do with my post?
I am asking you, which update was it? I am genuinely curious.
You mean the part where you jumped to the conclusion that we thought they would put a new client build through cert and then to live just for a cosmetic realignment. Yeah you were right on that part I guess. If anyone had suggested that, they hadn’t though. I mean if you want to call that a win… sure, I guess.
I am aware of that, but they are responsible for relaying relevant information to said community. They are also responsible for bringing our concerns to the department leads in order to get those questions answered. But you knew that right?
You seem to make a habit of jumping to conclusions and then not liking it when its pointed out that you misread something. Might want to work on that my friend. Its not a great look see my point at the top of this post.
You think Season 2 will be free? No of course it wont. So they are 100% prioritising something they intend to sell to us later down the line. That’s a simple irrefutable fact.
Yes there is. Ive explained this. Its called Halo Insiders. You can find more information about it on the halo waypoint homepage. Its not hidden, anyone can apply. They can easily (especially if it was pc only) fire out a build and spin up another instance of their host software. It runs on different ID’s specifically so it wont interrupt or interfere with the Live build.

Ive spoken with a developer specifically regarding testing this very issue and was told it was a good idea and something they would consider.
I’ll repeat myself: I have no idea what you’re talking about or what it has to do with anything I posted.
Okay put on your reading glasses and go back to the guy I was originally talking to when you responded. The one who was talking about it taking three months to fix, and then I told him they were almost certainly waiting for a later client build. Ya know. Like in the dev quote that you sent me.
You’re awfully snarky for someone that has no idea how this works. Here, let me show you:
Yup, and the community guys wrote up that bit about the misaligned armor effect. So far so good.
And this is also correct!
But uh… Where in those two sentences did you address the fact that a community manager isn’t the one setting priorities in triage meetings?
Once I was aware that a fix wasn’t instantly ready, I said “sure.” Because everything else in my post was correct. Literally nothing else you’ve said has contradicted anything I’ve posted.
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
So Season 2 doesn’t have a free track of cosmetic items in the battle pass like Season 1? The Season 2 client update also won’t include any new free events at all that have free cosmetics?
Then they haven’t done it. I specifically said they should be doing this to verify the BTB issue and you immediately went full snark mode that they are actively updating a public test environment. I suggested they run new “flights” as they call them to test out fixes, specifically in regards to btb; have they been doing this since launch?
Here’s the issue though – it’s a pretty minor fix, it shouldn’t take three whole months to make the adjustment. If it’s a major fix / difficult to implement, and that’s why it takes so long – it raises a huge question of how much longer the bigger issues in the game (e.g., desync) will take to fix.
Additionally, I don’t think they had ill intent, but with the way the visor issue was worded (“Eagle-eyed players noticed these two Armor Effects weren’t absolutely, perfectly aligned” and “we’ve busted out our levels and protractors”), came off as a bit dismissive, as if insinuating the player base is being petty.
There has absolutely been petty criticism, and in many ways I feel for the developers, but this was not the way to go in an update where patience is wearing thin and players are expecting full live service from what is supposed to be a live service game.
Yep it seems they will never address the major issues with this game. 343 is turning more and more into an embarrassment and I’m glad even the hardest defenders are starting to realize it. Please everyone continue to rally together against this money hungry greedy developer that does not care about any of us!!!
Each time I read a post like this, I buy more stuff in the store.
Still can’t see where anyone said they would or should push out a build only for a minor cosmetic fix. Considering it’s a live service game you would assume it would be seeing more deliverables more often than quarterly Kinda looks like you jumped to a conclusion again.
And here we are jumping to conclusions again.
Right here.
Want to borrow my reading glasses?
So season 2 doesn’t have a premium track of cosmetics in the battle pass like season 1?
No they haven’t sadly as I pointed out when initially describing the halo insiders programme. At least we agree that this is something they should be doing.
Anyway it’s late, I’m off to bed, have a great evening!
Sorry I was asking a simple question. Maybe I said it in the wrong language? In which update did 343 address the desynch and server stability issues? I want to read the update so I can figure out a rough time frame of when they might be done. It is just a general question.
we sure bethesda aint behind halo at this point or?
This implies he wants the fix as soon as possible, which would necessitate a new client build. Which they said they’re not doing in that dev post you quoted.
WRONG AGAIN. Which is especially ironic given the sentence that immediately follows:
Live service games that also run on consoles (which requires a certification process) frequently split between client side and server side updates. So long as a client build has all the available assets, it can ship significantly earlier than when those assets need to go live. Even to the point where the assets aren’t even hooked up on the server side of things. Therefor it makes much more sense to bundle together as many client changes/additions/fixes as possible instead of releasing a new client update each time a bug gets fixed.
Uh… Do you even remember the post I was responding to when you went off on this?
In this quote right here you’re conflating priority with community updates, which are controlled by two completely different types of people. Community isn’t responsible for priority, hence why I said:
So if your argument is now:
Then just stop talking, because it means your initial quote about community “prioritizing” the armor effect in their post is irrelevant to the entire topic at hand.
No no no. That is not what we’re talking about. Let’s back that train up:
If there are things in Season 2 that are going to be free, is it or is it not possible that the person responsible for the armor effect fix could have higher priority tasks that are a part of season 2’s free content and not the store?
Maybe next time when we’re literally agreeing on something, don’t turn the snark to 1000% and make it sound like we’re disagreeing instead.
I’ve got plenty of disposable income to buy whatever I want from the store. I’d love to hear how that makes me braindead.
For the third time, I’ll ask you the same question that you refuse to answer: What does this have to do with anything I’ve said? We both know exactly why you keep asking this question, but I want to see you actually explain it to me. Just for giggles.
watch out, got an armchair 343 employee over here
aww c’mon. we both know you can do better than that low hanging troll-bait
who are you?
