Had to "resync", now all progress/data is gone…

Last night I launched MCC and it said I needed to “Resync”, I had never seen this before, so I let it run. It got to 100% and it just sat there and never let me continue. I clicked “Cancel” and tried to play the game and it would not let me. I “quit the build” and tried again. Same message saying I need to resync, however this time it recommended I sync from “Local Data”, and said that it was Newer. I did this, and the sync went much quicker, and let me in the game. However all of my progress was 0… 0 completion on all Campaigns/Playlists/Spartan Ops that I have put a lot of time in to. (220+ hours).

I hard reset several times hoping it would resync and it wouldn’t. I went to “Manage Game”, and deleted my Local Data then relaunched the game. It synced with the “cloud” again and completed. However all of my progress is still gone. Am I just S.O.L.?

Really? 220+ hours and all of my data/progress can just disappear in an instant? This might be the final straw for me, as I have spent TONS of time on the Campaign stuff since MM does not work properly.

Please tell me this will somehow fix itself or there is something I can do to correctly sync my progress again…

I’m sorry to hear this, that’s so crappy. It’s likely saved somewhere in the cloud, have you tried re-syncing again? If that doesn’t work I highly suggest calling support, as they’ll know far better than I on how this can be resolved. I had this happen to me several times now, but I didn’t have nearly as much progress lost as you do, but with a quick hard reset of my console, and my Internet connection, the game loaded all my data.
