So just checking, how many people on here have got 3 friends and 3 other xboxs together and experienced this amazing game in the same physical space as their friends? how was it? I have so many fond memories playing halo with my friends but since it has evolved so much I can only imagine how great it is for the rest of you! share your stories!
I thought you can’t splitscreen OR LAN with Halo 5?
I had some friends bring their Xbox Ones over for the launch and I’ll tell you what. Playing warzone side by side with your friends is totally awesome. It can get heated when your all in a firefight yelling where people are.
I have been at two LANs thus far with Halo 5. Small groups, 3 people each time. It was a lot of fun.
But… the good old days of LANing Halo CE is long and gone. Times have changed, I don’t even want to pull all-nighters like I used to. We used to get 8-12 people together on a weekly basis, and play until the sun came up. Really good times, great memories, I had no idea I was experiencing the best gaming of my life. Nothing gaming wise has ever topped the LANing experiences I had during Halo CE. It was just the right game at the right time.

4 players isn’t much of a LAN. I get that some people enjoy 2v2, but LAN parties are typically meant for more people. Hence the “party” part. My friends and I get together every month or two for a Halo CE “LAN” through MCC. Like some others pointed out, it’s not truly a LAN because of the Xbox Live dependency. We usually have enough players for at least 5v5 or 6v6.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to have a truly peer to peer connection. Everything, even custom games is hosted on a server, so you have to have XBL and a decent internet connection.
