Hacking and DDoS'ing

Hi, I’m SilentRanger. So recently I have been into Custom Games on Halo5. My favorites being DayZ and Raids… sometimes socials. Anyways, recently I played a game and dueled some people and played this war game and got told that I was a “Civilian” and in violation of some UNSC or ONI or some BS made up code of conduct and warned that their were hackers and DDoS’ers and such who policed such issues to which I chuckled and brushed off. I was also informed of tags within the game which identified ranks of these individuals. Within 1 or 2 days of having this encounter I notice I am constantly kicked from the local network and am unable to join games, frequently loose connection and completely lag out all of of which are uncharacteristic seeing as I pay top dollar for my internet services. Just wondering what steps Microsoft or Halo employees can take to make sure my account is secure and possibly educate me on what steps are taken to prevent this from happening to their paid customers. Thank you

If you’re worried that you’re getting hit offline, call your ISP and have them change your IP address.

But could they not look up his gamertag and still continue the BS?

You could change that too, if you aren’t super attached to it. Just make a variant.

Guys I really appreciate the feedback, THANK YOU!!
Although… I was mainly hoping to hear back from 343 or a Mod to hear what possible counter measures they can or do take on their end to help ensure the protection of their legitimate players.
Besides, while all of your solutions could work… I find the idea of me having to put in that much work, effort and sacrifice to solve a problem like that to be asking a bit much of a victim of wrongdoing.
On the upside it might have just been a server issue because I have since been able to join games and I now notice others having the same issue.
Again, thank you all for your feedback it’s much appriciated!

I’m pretty sure I’ve been DDosd in Halo 5 a few times. Mostly in Warzone fighting parties. I’ll be doing extremely well, and knocked off. Internet connection fine, no bad weather, alls good. I matched them again and same thing happens. This time right before the Armory cap on our side.

It’s hard to do in Halo 5 but I am sure it happens scarcely.

Best thing to do is report and block the ones you suspect of doing it. Be detailed in your report description.

Admittedly, I don’t know that much about it, but I know when it happened to streamers like Ninja for example during his Reach days after someone matched him, he would just change his IP and it would fix it.
