Just a question I want to know, are there any hackers in Halo Reach online matches on the 360. I have not played an online match yet, one reason, the main reason, is because I do not want to waste money on XBOX Live but another reason, a more recent reason, is that I do not want to jump into an online match only to see that there are hackers left, right and centre.
You may come across the odd one or two with questionable actions but most definitely not all the time. Just report those. You won’t encounter full lobbies of them. It’s certainly not like Call of Duty: World at War.
i am not a console player but i would assume its slim to none since if you get caught don’t you lose the ability to play on any live service rendering your xbox useless for online play?
Halo Reach has cheaters/modders in mutliplayer via Xbox 360 servers. That’s because the 360 servers aren’t watched by the Banhammer Police nearly as vigorously as they once did ten years ago. Cheaters are still punished but it takes a while before the banhammer usually swings. That goes for any Xbox 360 game that still has an active multiplayer fan base.
With that said, Halo Reach will soon be added to the Master Chief Collection which will have a broader player population and no cheaters at all.
I’ve rarely if ever seen hackers in any playlist other than Grifball. In Grifball I would say 15-20% of the time you get hackers but if you’re just concerned about regular playlists you’re fine. If you encounter definitive evidence that someone is hacking just report and move on
I’ve never seen any hackers, just boosters.
I have encounter two hackers during a Anniversary One-Flag match on Halo Reach. They didn’t even bother to hide it. Invincibility, armor abilities and faster speed. One of them had the full set, while the other only had half. It did ruin the match from the very get go when one of them already had made it to our base at the start. Im not sure about the other game modes, but anniversary game modes might make there intentions more obvious. If you see any hackers in your match, leave and report them. Be sure to have their game tags before doing so.
