Hackers Have been spotted on Halo 4

Between me and my buddies we have found out that there are people already have been hacking on Halo 4 for the xbox360 console, this hacks include but are not limited to Miss Hitting: where people have shot at you and doesn’t even have the retical on you they shoot and you are dead, another found is in Swat Red Retical: people aiming at a wall a solid wall and know when someone is coming around a corner because it turns red, last but not least is a bit of like complaining about lag a bit but not so Lag Overload: I have found that people are overloading the game and lagging it down hardcore so they can get more kills and also when other players are in mid combat when hitting someone 7 times with a battle rifle in the head the player does not die, or the fact an enemy can kill you with one shot. I have personally am tired of these issues, and so are my friends, so if 343 Studios does not take a closer look into these things then playing Halo 4 or their future games is pointless, they team up with microsoft and are supposed to be monitoring this game but I have felt that nothing is being done about these issues. Calling this whining if you want but I know from time to time even under your breath you have cursed the game once or twice for maybe these same issues or even a few of your own you have spotted, so in conclusion if you are against these problems with the game then please let 343 Studios know this.

The OP is a hacker I saw your infinite rockets in infinity slayer.

Hahah I have seen some CRAZY hackers stuff in mm. I don’t really mind though, it’s all in good fun.

Lol. three months into the games and there are already hackers without being banned. WTF is 343i doing all this time? 343i is a bunch if dumbazzes for allowing this kind of -Yoink- to happen. Just saying. I really hope 343i crashes and burns.

What the OP is describing is nothing but lag.

Lag.

Only modding going on is the armor mods and campaign mods.

We can’t always be so quick to jump on the lag wagon or hacker train. The game can save videos with theatre mode so use it to its fullest. There are also modders present already. You can’t forget that the options for custom games can be potentially brought over into matchmaking as they are already present in the game.

Here’s an example if a modder/hacker;

“We can’t always be so quick to jump on the lag wagon or hacker train”.

Except for the fact that lag is easily identifiable with a little practice.

I agree as far as hackers/modders go. Everyone gets called a hacker or a modder by some idiot with no other explanation as to why they got destroyed.

I haven’t played Halo online much other than campaign and custom games through the years. Does lag switching send send the victim to the black screen making them unable to move?

To Master Cosgrove:

I presume that you belong to the troll family.

In my experience there really haven’t been that many people who are blatantly hacking. I’ve seen one or two but the ghosting issue isn’t nearly as bad as it was in Halo 3.

What I have seen a lot, are people setting a short lag spike they can trigger while going around corners, before taking two shots, or throwing grenades. Oh and the rare person who has promethean vision which sees everything through walls even stealth upgrade load-outs. The end effect being by the time your client registers your being shot they only have to make two more shots or less to finish you.

From my experience, during the Infinity Challenge Finals most games would have between 1 and 3 people using this sort of switch. Couple that with teams that don’t have their aim down well enough to predict where the people should be and those games usually end with a 300-400 point lead in the hackers favor. Sometimes they are even more subtle about it and only turn it on during the last 10 kills of a game.

In the end, the only real way to catch these people is through statistical analysis which usually involves a large data set or having microsoft monitoring each persons Xbox ping before and after a game is loaded up looking for anomalous behavior. While I’m sure they could easily do this, if theres enough noise even then you’d still have to fall back to a statistical analysis which takes lots of data and time. I seriously doubt 343 or microsoft would make that kind of resource commitment for something that could easily be blamed on connection issues.

Lag switching has been around since the XBOX and Halo 2, it will never end, it is easy to make one out of a light switch, look on youtube, there are videos showing how to make one.

MS have already said their future will be ‘cloud centric’, this could mean all Triple AAA titles go to dedicated servers for the next generation of XBOX, like battlefield, Gears of War 3 already has, this would solve a lot of cheating / modding/ hacking etc.

The most common cheat I see in the game is the headless hack that removes the players head. Makes it pretty advantageous in SWAT. I’ve reported about 20 of them over the course of a month.

Regarding people getting the kill-shot when their reticle isn’t on target - they’re not necessarily cheating. I’ve had situations where I’ve landed a kill-shot on someone, and my reticle wasn’t even directly on them. Maybe a combination of lag and the game’s auto-aim doing weird things.

God help us all if the console makers start using their devices to stream titles. You’ll spend most of your time being frustrated by massive input lag (a far worse fate than being occasionally lagged by cheaters). At that point it really will be pay to win and the only winners will be the ISPs.

The best way to fix this kind of thing is to go the battlefield 3 route and provide dedicated servers and then slowly wean the financial burden onto the clans and people interested in administrating their own game server.

“Maybe a combination of lag and the game’s auto-aim doing weird things.”

That might fly in in a multiperson fight, but i’ve seen people who are shooting at air, targets nowhere to be seen or looking completely at the ground while moving for the kill cams. Pretty sure its a mod, or maybe an aimbot.

The killcams are known to be broken. They only record what your xbox sees; if you’re lagging, so is the killcam. It really shouldn’t be in the game at all in the state it’s in seeing as so many people are crying “1337 H4XX0RS” because of it.

Imagine if you had as much bank as 323industry right now , what would you be doing ? Worrying about the “community” ? No , I think not . More like vacating …

I was sent a bunch of PMs from a handful of players saying I use cheats when in fact they just suck.

lol bad kids caring too much
