H5G ONI spartan hint in H4?

Speculation bomb in 5…4…3…2… The body actor for master chief voiced the interrogator… I don’t know what that means :pensive:

Now that’s just wierd…I don’t wanna fuel any John clone ideas…those are ridiculous…but could be real.

You’re not the first to theorize this. The intro cut-scene always seemed out-of-place.

That means Steve Downs voiced two characters…? It’s not an uncommon thing for a person to voice act 2 people. The guy who voiced 343GS,Tim Dadabo, also voiced Corporal Perez.

Yes, this happens. But it’ll be even more wierd if that is the new “Master Chief”.

Nope… Bruce Thomas voiced the interrogator and body acted MC… Steve provided the voice only to MC

He has a pretty good voice then…lets be theoretical and say that Bruce Thomas voiced the ONI officer and body acted. And lets say that this new ONI spartan is the new Master Chief. Is there a coincidence that he did both?

> So, I’ve been thinking alot about this whole “ONI spartan” thing, and I decided to start up Halo 4’s campaign (for no apparent reason) from the beginning. And I ran across the interrogation of Halsey. I noticed that the ONI officer continuously asked Halsey questions on what drove Master Chief and what made him great. They even made a comment about being “…at his core broken”. Halsey then proceeds saying something about him not being normal “Naval intelligence” but that he’s “different” and THE BEST PART “WHAT ARE YOU AFTER?”. That one phrase is basically the biggest hint for H5G. ONI is hunting down the Master Chief.

Firstly if your thinking this is happened post First Requiem Campaign… quite possible… otherwise anything after the Second Requiem Campaign is a no go… it could have also happened in the 4 years past… 2553-2557.

But in terms of interrogations… this is perhaps right after they initiated the next Spartan Program… designate IV… and the candidates results seemed mediocre… at best… compared to the previous Generations… the IIIs and IIs… so a creation of the Master Chief and his brethren was sanctioned.

Halsey could tell which spartan was who in MJOLNIR armor by just their body language, I’m sure she could tell if the interrogator resembled chief.

That is not to say I disagree with the notion the interrogator has something to do with this new spartan.

If second campaign you mean Spartan Ops then no. I believe it occurred actually a few days before Spartan Ops.

Well clones “persay” are their own personality and emotions. They just have the same physical qualities. The clones Halsey gave to SII parents confirms this. They looked the same but they acted and felt different.

And she didn’t pick up on his appearance (I know it was a dark room, but still) or his voice (which is also different).

Why bother haveing a clone of john if he’s so unlike john his sorta-mom doesn’t recognize him?

Spot on OP, this has been sitting in my head for a while. When I saw all the speculation, I began to remember the Halo 4 prologue, and how this ONI agent, was looking for traits that made Chief great. I really do believe this ONI spartan will be no different from a machine, psychologically broken, emotionless and only doing what he is ordered to do. He is probably one of many shadow agents that ONI are creating to carry out special missions, that would break normal Human will power and mental health. Hence the reason why the ONI agent was so specific when it came to the matters of Chief’s success.

Nobody can just walk into a flood hive the way Chief did and not go insane or commit suicide, the smell of rotting putrid flesh would be enough for most sentient beings, let alone the legion of rotting corpses speaking mad things to you whilst trying to kill and devour you. If that wasn’t enough, then being exposed to the Gravemind’s psychological manipulation would have been the icing on the cake. Even the Ancient humans and Forerunners (being far beyond current humanity, in age, technology and ideals) that spoke with the Gravemind committed suicide, once they had heard the things the Gravemind spoke, and witnessed its atrocities.

What Chief did on high charity was beyond comprehension, and I think ONI wants to make more soldiers/ next generation humans like him. If the human race had 100,000 master chief’s fighting in the war, we would have won, and made short work of whoever or whatever remained. But that’s just my theory. Probably a theory with holes everywhere, but a theory nonetheless.

I sent a tweet to the voice actor who played the ONI operative in the opening cutscene (He also did the mo-cap work for Chief) and he said he could not discuss further Halo projects with me…shame :stuck_out_tongue:

God… they called John and Cortana “guardians” in that video. Multiple times.

You know, after watching the ONI agent more closely, his collar resembles that of a Spartan-IV undersuit. Look at him towards the beginning.

Actually, I think the Spartan Ops started six months after the events of Halo 4’s main campaign, when Requiem was first discovered.

If he is, in fact, the new Spartan, then that means that Marlowe is not him. The interrogator is Caucasian (you can see his hand at one point). That would place Marlowe as a supporting character. I did a playthrough of H4’s campaign a few days ago, the whole time putting myself in the shoes of John and trying to see how he would think and act in different situations (which has deeply emotional consequences T^T) and hesitated at the prologue. I had forgotten that Halsey said “The other’s before you were ONI, but you… you’re something else.” Veeeeeery interesting…

Good point on the Flood! I never thought of that, but I find it wierd that they would want to make more Master Chiefs…very interesting.

Yep!!! I think we’re onto something!

He’s a different type of ONI officer.
