The game isn’t punishing you for their mistakes, it’s punishing your team for losing and collectively making mistakes. I understand your sentiment here, so to fix the situation you should try searching with a full team to improve your chances and communication.

lolwut? If you lose games you will derank through your rank and through the tiers in a division. BUT you can’t ever derank to a previous division (You are in gold division and go on a losing streak from Gold 2 back to the beginning of Gold 1, but you wont go to Silver divison).

Oh okay, so it’s like setting a record and trying to break it every month then.

I think there are 2 systems, 1 is your spartan rank like in Reach and the other one is the CSR witch is for the season ones, I don’t think there is anything else.

But here I feel 1 month does not give me enough time to try it, I am definitely down for the resets though.

> Now for arena they are gonna work with seasons, season rewards and a ladder system. I like this idea overall but they also announced that these seasons only last for a month and your rank resets at the end of the month. In my opinion this is quite short, there are probably more people like me that don’t have allot of time outside the weekends and want to play other things as well (warzone, campaign achievements/intel etc).
> I understand that when you get better you will achieve certain ranks faster than before but still I hate the idea of climbing up the ladder each month again. I would like the idea more to have the seasons take a little longer than 1 month, I’m all up for the resets, just not as often.

I agree, 1 month is too short and last I checked 1 month wasn’t a season… it should be 3 months
> 2535456533691021;3:
> The seasons do seem relatively short but are on par with cod’s monthly league rank resets as well. The purpose of the resets are so people keep playing and not get to diamond and never play again type thing. This also differentiates from the standard CSR rank as those don’t reset.
Why should we care what COD does?? I know I sure don’t. If anything, 343I/MS/Halo should want to set its self apart from that bloody series. I understand the purpose, but 1 month is too short IMO, and 3 months would serve the same purpose. It’s fine if your 16 years old and can play everyday but other wise… ya.

Agreed!! Three months does sound perfect to me as well.
I don’t think “reset” is the best word to describe this because it’s not like previous ranking systems where you start from the very bottom and work your way up. It’s more like a re-evaluation of your skill. You could potentially end up at any rank, possibly even higher than when you ended at previously if you happen to improve faster than your rank could adjust normally. Though most likely I expect you’ll end up not far from where you were. I expect monthly re-evaluations will actually feel about right, though I assume it could be adjusted if it doesn’t. I expect that people’s ranks will converge to their proper place much faster than other systems, which results in more (in both senses of the word) evenly matched games.

Yeah I don’t have enough friends on xbox live and in halo 2 I was still in school so I hadn’t really thought of it then or I don’t even know if it existed then. but yes after playing destiny… sorry I said the D word but yes after playing that and having to go to the forums to find people to do absolutely everything worth doing in that game ive become aware of the recruitment stuff but I think as far as a raid or srike in destiny I have never gone into a match with a full team of people in any game… ever lol but it still sucks that if I want to do good in a match or I guess to word it better, have a better chance at a win I have to recruit people or wait for friends or have a higher chance of deranking while still being in the top 3. Ive gone like 5-6 matches in a row in the top 3 but lost every game and dropped a few skill ranks and its very aggravating. I live in a small town of 3500 people so close friends who will be on the same work schedule and everything are hard to find. I just wish their was a system were I go up or down personally with how well I perform in a match… and enough with the esports stuff … isn’t 99% of the gaming population not going to be involved in esports aside from watching it?

> Then get a team. Simple.
Simple if you want to go to recruitment to do it which after a year and a bit of doing in destiny I’m quite sick of…
Simple if you have a large group dedicated players on your friends list that will be on and playing when your off work that are actually good at halo not people you have to carry through
All I’m saying is I enjoy being ranked on my skill level not that of the team I have with me.
Most of my friends are playstation fanboys who wouldn’t dare even think of buying an xbox one
so simple for you maybe not simple for me

I’m unsure if FFA is going to have a rank, but if so I’ll be playing that a lot and you could do the same (I’ll be playing regardless of the rank because I love FFA). That way the only reason you win or lose would be yourself, no teammates to bring you down.

Aya because a month can go by pretty fast and plus none of us have all the time in the world to play so if we’re trying to get to a certain rank before it resets…that’s going to be tricky.
I know nothing about why this is implemented so I won’t complain.

True. But theres something about having a full warthog wreaking havoc upon the other team… that’s when people actually get in though haha
I agree that the season seems a little short. Honestly, thinking about it, when the game first releases, that month and the next will seem like long months because we will all play everyday, but like in a year or so, people won’t play arena as much and then it won’t seem that long. So I think for now they should keep the seasons at a month long, but study some stats and after arena play drops enough, extend the seasons to like 2 or maybe even 3 months. Remember that not all playlists will reset. I am very curious which playlists will actually reset and which will not.
I am dying for Halo 5 to come out so we can experience this <3
I’m not sure how exactly placement matches work other than win/loss because in beta I got thrown into silver 2 immediately and it’s been a while so I dunno what my W/L ratio was. I will definitely say objectives, k/dr, and assists have to apply for placements, and after that it is entirely based off win/loss, which seems rather weird if the placements are based off everything?
I’m sure someone will reverse engineer the way it works after launch.

Yeah, buddy, we weren’t talking the seasonal ranks. You literally have a Spartan Rank that continues to go up the more you play Halo 5, like it did in Halo 4. It’s how you get to like SR125 and -Yoink- so you unlock REQ packs.

Hey now. I’m from Kansas and there is nothing wrong with our ocean front property as long as you don’t mind the twisters ya hear? Seriously though, Ad Astra Per Aspera mother -Yoink-ers
I have a short attention span so I probably won’t even get to Onyx anyway. In the beta I went to Gold 3 immediately and never ranked up again because of my attention span.
Monthly seasons let them cycle in new settings and maps faster. Obviously, they could put them in whenever they wanted but if you were to change it to BR starts halfway through a season you’d throw everything out of wack, so to speak.
