First of all I haven’t been on the hype train for long now but since a month or so, i cannot wait for halo 5 to come out.
343 has surprised me what they did with the game (I disliked halo 4 for the most part except the story). I’m liking allot of stuff I see, now there are also some things that I THINK I don’t like but i should wait until i played the game to have a final judgment.
Now for arena they are gonna work with seasons, season rewards and a ladder system. I like this idea overall but they also announced that these seasons only last for a month and your rank resets at the end of the month. In my opinion this is quite short, there are probably more people like me that don’t have allot of time outside the weekends and want to play other things as well (warzone, campaign achievements/intel etc).
I understand that when you get better you will achieve certain ranks faster than before but still I hate the idea of climbing up the ladder each month again. I would like the idea more to have the seasons take a little longer than 1 month, I’m all up for the resets, just not as often.
Again I don’t want to rant since I’m really surprised in a good way what 343 has done to halo 5
What do you guys and galls think about this?
PS: I hope it was a easy read since English isn’t my native language.
Personally for me with the monthly resets, I was driving towards atleast Onyx, but with the resets so soon, I’m okay with whatever I end up ranking as. Won’t affect me or my skill level. Plus it’s about winning games anyways, not how good you are. I could be 30 kills and 1 death and lose a game because blue team scored all the flags in CTF.
The seasons do seem relatively short but are on par with cod’s monthly league rank resets as well. The purpose of the resets are so people keep playing and not get to diamond and never play again type thing. This also differentiates from the standard CSR rank as those don’t reset.

Wrong. I posted something about this earlier, it has more going on in the background than just winnings, they posted about it on Teambeyond.net.
They use stats, and different algorithms to determine your CSR rank, not just wins.

"The ranking system is entirely based on Win/Losses so make sure you work with your team to pull off a victory each match."
Even though it is based on winning or losing, you can get better at working as a team. League of legends has the same system and it can really matter if you have a good player who “guides” the team or whatever.

I know that’s the reason and I agree with it, but I would rather see if it was 3 months maybe. For me this would be more enjoyable since I had the time to try and work my way up there and keep pushing myself for next season.

Yes, I think its the same as in Reach where you just gain xp and go up.

Sweet. There’s just so much going on and a lot to remember so I was hoping I’d be correct about that lol.
We all know what a season is because our lives are based around them.
343 you must change the so called monthly season to be LONGER. Every three months sounds just about perfect. Do you know how many games it takes to get to Onyx? I’d say a -Yoink- ton.

There’s a bunch of stuff (special sauce) going on behind the scenes that we don’t want to talk about, but it shouldn’t be possible to luck yourself into an elite rank. Also, while you won’t drop CSR ranks (Gold to Silver, for example) based on losses, your MMR is continually adjusted to ensure appropriate skill matching. And while we feel confident about the system we are launching with, this is something we will continue to evaluate and tweak season-to-season."
Quoted from TeamBeyond.net. MMR is your ranking. I used the incorrect ‘CSR’ wording, but they use more than just your wins/losses to determine your ranking.

10 games to get to Onyx???
Yeah I got some ocean front property to sell you in Kanas too.

We’ll that property sounds nice! But did you stop to think that there are 10 placement matches, and IF you do well enough to be placed in Onyx, it would have only taken you 10 games. Wow amazing how that works. I think you think that it works like a social rank. The system is suppose to put you in the best matched tier. If you winning as much as losing then your in the correct tier.
Just sounds strange how you can jump strait into Onyx just because you go 10/10 or 9/10 in that playlist. How about if your a bad player and you have reallllly good teammates? Based on there performance and your performance in the match they might get a higher rank then you?

It’s not just the winnings. It’s your performance. I keep posting this, because none of you people freakin’ read.
