H5 Lightrifles: Hitscan vs Projectiles

Anyone else curious as to why Lightrifles fire projectile beams when used by prometheans, but hitscan beams when used by players, ai squadmates, or covenant? Also, I’ve occasionally come across promethean soldiers in WZFF who use the hitscan variant instead.
Also makes me wonder how well (or how bad) the lightrifle would be if it was a headshot-capable projectile weapon in the hands of a player.

Light Rifle? That’s projectiles. Are you thinking of the Binary rifle? If so, I hate that thing in this game. Its stupid to have it be a focus rifle you don’t have control over. Give me an H2 sniper any day.

The Forerunner enemies can swap weapons on the fly, so you’ve probably encountered a soldier that swapped from his Binary to his Light Rifle (for whatever reason) and then maybe back again.

It’s both hit-scan. The reason it looks like projectile when A.I. use Light Rile is their aim is not good as player, firing at random spots and those weapon’s projectile animation make it look like projectile.

Obviously I’m not the player in reference here.

I’m convinced that the Warzone Firefight Soldiers are equipped with a secret, hidden REQ called the Aimbot 3000. It’s absolutely ridiculous how accurate they are with that thing; it makes me want to repeatedly bash my head against a wall.

Pretty sure its a projectile when Soldiers/Knights use them. Try comparing campaign on Normal vs campaign on Heroic. The light rifle bolts travel really slowly on Normal difficulty, and are easy to dodge. And when you give a lightrifle to your squadmates, the firing animation looks completely different! It becomes an instant hitscan beam like it was in Halo 4

In the case I mentioned, the soldier actually swapped from a suppressor TO a lightrifle, and then displayed the hitscan attacks that looks like when players shoot the weapon.
