Halo 5 had so much potential to be great from the start, but it falls a bit short. For what it’s worth, I feel that what is in the game is done really well (I had mixed feelings about the campaign though). However, where this game falls short, is what isn’t in the game. I could make a whole list about what those things are, but I’m sure you can pick and choose the numerous things people are already complaining about on the forum and get an idea of those things. To list a few of the popular ones, Halo 5 should’ve had split screen, non-competitive playlists such as infection or grifball, and a better overall campaign experience.
This post isn’t a rant about what’s not in the game. I just feel the need to express that what’s in the game is great, but I just wish it had so much more from launch. Yes, 343 can add many of the things people want, but it’s just so lackluster that way. I really like how the gameplay of Halo 5 turned out but until those much needed additions from 343 come out, I just can’t see myself playing this game for long until any of those changes happen. It’s a shame that these things have to be added into the game, and are not available at launch. What’re your guys’ thoughts on Halo 5 as of now?
On a side note and an actual rant, why should my arena rank suffer if my teammates aren’t on par with me? What’s the point of having an individual rank if every playlist (save for FFA) is so team oriented? Yes, I have friends to play with but I’m not about to stop playing with my friends on arena to play with more skilled players. Maybe we’ll just play a less skill based multiplayer mode like warzone and… warzone…
they want you to play as a team…my advice: make some friends who are good players.

Pretty much everything you said will be added in the near future. Don’t worry.
However, the ranked system does need an upgrade, I agree.
But all your initial worries should soon be fixed. Forge is coming in December, BTB soon and hopefully soon enough Grifball and Infection.

I really hope so, this game could be so much more fun if it did have all that.
