H5: Guardians ViDoc

For those who missed it.

That city. Also, SMG! I spy Midship.

Quickfire list of stuff I noticed:

SMG
Midship-y
New UNSC Launcher
Assault Rifle
Battle Rifle with a Red Dot Sight
Sniper Rifle
Gold energy sword on Midship
Fair starts

Also, is that Armor in-game?! It’s like the cars in Forza.

2:22 Lethbridge Industries.

Lethbridge is a company featured on the Skyline map in Halo 4 DLC. Looks like we will be returning there for beta.

That Covenant level looks awesome. Kind of looks like a combination of Midship and Zealot in terms of layout.

Also there seems to be a what looks like a single shot Missile Launcher.

The DMR is back too.

I really wanna know who did the soundtrack for this vidoc and if the music is from Halo 5.

> I really wanna know who did the soundtrack for this vidoc and if the music is from Halo 5.

I assume Kazuma Jinnouchi composed the music since he’s done all the music for recent Halo trailers.

I loved the epic theme at the end of the video when the Guardians logo shows.

> The DMR is back too.

Taking into account that H5 will be taking the arena approach, do you think the DMR will be a semi-power weapon this time around? Could be, & I would welcome it greatly.

> I really wanna know who did the soundtrack for this vidoc and if the music is from Halo 5.

We have nothing to go by, but I assume it was done by Kazuma Jinnouchi, who will be the primary composer for the game.

Kinda disappoint the armor seems to be the same, wasn’t a fan of the Halo 4 S-IV armor and the E3 teaser lead me to believe they were working on it, but it doesn’t seem to be the case. The shoulder armor of the Red is really clipping through the chest a lot as well, would have thought they’d clean that up for the video at least.

The weapons that also flashed through were the SMG, AR, DMR, Sniper Rifle, and the Rocket Launcher, at least I think it is a Rocket Launcher. A bit of a shame if it is, because it has been as icon a weapon design as the Assault Rifle. Also, the spot were the sword usually is on Midship…it doesn’t look like it’s actually a sword but more a hologram. As it rotates it has a little bit of an odd twist to the blade.

The levels on the maps appear to be quite high for regular jumps, don’t they?
Plus for said being small, I think they appear rather large as well.

Looks soooo good! And the return of the SMG and what has now been confirmed as midship, simply can’t wait

Absolutely. So well done.

What are regular jumps, how do you know what is one in this new game, or what jump height will be? You could tell they were large all from a few clips?

I said they appeare quite high to me in comparison to past titles (considering jump height, level heights and model proportions as we’ve known it in Halo), like the “sword platform” on the “midship map” or especially when the camera zooms to the Spartan on the city map in which the Spartan looks so small in comparison to his surroundings.

I did not say that they are. Perhaps they really are significantly higher or perhaps they are not and simply appear like that (to me).

I’m stunned… apart from the Spartan IV models, which I expect to be placeholders, everything sounds promising.

Perhaps all Spartans are getting buffs to movement speed and jump height, or maybe certain paths are only usable when you apply a Spartan Ability.

I dont know how about you but the music when the logo come up gives me a feel like when Chief and Arbiter meet again after a long time. The music is awesome.

Yeah, that is basically what I was aiming at.
That the maps appear in the their vertical as well as horizontal proportions as if they incorporated certain elements into their design which require or encourage such adjustments, like certain forms of advanced movement speed or certain forms of advanced jump height, what could of course be related to the announced new Spartan Abilities as well.
