H5 grenades - pros/cons

Wondering if people feel the same as I do after playing H5 online

Frags - too large of a blast radius?
Plasma - not strong enough anymore?
Splinter - too long of a duration/OP possibly?

I think all of the grenades are a good fit personally.

I like frags because they bounce.

I like frags although splinter is pretty good too and plasma is always satisfying to stick but I don’t think grenades are as powerful as they used to be because of the dash and general increased mobility and this I really like because I always felt grenades were just too good in previous Halos. It was extremely frustrating to just get spam grenaded down before you can even have a chance to fight back or with little chance of escape.

Frags are useful for that extra bounce.

Plasma boo ya

frags for offense, splinter for defense. Nothing better than a chaser trying to melee you around a corner and walks right into a splinter. Then again, chasers do some dumb stuff lol.

Fair point that dash now makes a huge difference

I think they’re all balanced. The plasma has always been a little OP in my opinion because of the high damage and the ease of sticking people. I think they made the sticking mechanic tighter and lowered the blast radius to accommodate the damage. Splinter grenades require planning and thus are not OP.

Frag means you have to relearn the bounce, AND, what textures increase or decrease bounce.

Splinters are odd ducks, sometimes a direct hit kills, other times they bounce… I think they bouce if the enemy is still shielded? Great for tossing one near an opponent and getting him to back dash into the cluster, hahaha.

Plamsa are hard to hit with, for me at least, 60% of the time. I’m working it lol. Blast radius is low but it’s an insta kill if it connects.
