I think I might have stumbled upon something … I don’t know if I’d call it an Easter Egg, but people have been asking which gold visor in Halo 5 is closest to Chief’s, so I was reading the descriptions of them all and something occurred to me … there are 5, and the the descriptions seem to offer clues or references to each of the main Halo games, and the appearance of the visors match the appropriate games.
(UI image with description for each is linked along left side)
DAYBREAK: This looks like Chief’s visor in CEA (description clue … protection from looking at atmospheric nuclear explosions? “Fancy a look?”)
SATURNINE: This is your classic Halo 2 visor. (Description clue … “compatible with Sangheili combat harness” … you do play as a Sangheili half the time in Halo 2).
DYNASTY: Dynasty is bright Halo 3 gold. (Description clue … this one is a bit clunky, so “The first VISR systems date back to the early 21st century, alternately bloating in complexity and paring down to bare-bones HUD management since then. The Dynasty HUD is an example of the former, with dozens of embedded quality of life apps” … yeah. I think it may be a reference to the difference HUDs we see in the first three Halo games with Halo 3’s being the best? I know it’s a stretch.)
AUTUMN: Halo 4 Reddish/Orange Gold visor. Read the description: created by AI going through rampancy. Just like Cortana as she upgraded Chief’s armor before the events of Halo 4.
LEGENDARY: So I assume this is Halo 5’s gold. I know it looks pretty dark in that picture, but here’s an in-game picture of Legendary looking boss as yoink … and very gold. Also, didn’t get much of a clue from the description.
So you guys think I’m on to something?
