H5 button combo allowing rapid fire with any gun

I don’t know if this has been posted here yet but Vetoed posted a Tweet showcasing a button combo allowing him to rapid fire a Sniper Rifle.
According to him and a few other tests the (Shoot) (Reload) (Sprint) (Shoot) combo while in midair allows you to rapidfire any weapon as showcased here with a Pistol.

Again I don’t know if this is a known issue here or at 343i but this needs a patch ASAP.

EDIT:
Thanks to LukePowa we know that this issue is now a known issue at 343i.

Apparently it is called quad shotting (Love the little cool terms people give to abusable mechanics)
Here is a youtube showing it too:

This should be fixed asap. It’s out there and it is going to be abused a lot now.

Don’t worry, it looks fun to use so 343 will probably patch it in 2 weeks just like supersliding. While it has been 1 year and 7 months and heavy aim is still not fixed. GG.

Well hey, some people wanted button combos like in Halo 2 to return, so here they are!

That looks deadly, although I don’t see many encounters where this will give someone the upper hand. Maybe with rockets?

Having an increased rate of fire will always give you the upper hand. The only downside to this button combo is that you can’t really dodge incoming fire because you’re restricted to moving forward.

Why would you want to keep this?

That’s what I’m saying. No matter how powerful you are, standing still will lose you most of your battles.

Fun had nothing to do with the super slide removal, do you ignore how/why people wanted it removed? Myself included.

This ones even worse since it’s weapon damage being exploited. If people -Yoink- when 343 removes it and give the response “but it was fun”, I’m just going ignore those people as they have no idea, I can call various things “fun”, but I can also admit they’re exploits/cheating/give unfair advantages, etc etc.

You’re not really standing still though.
You’re still hopping forward and with practise and/or button mapping you can retain your ability to aim around and thrust out of the combo.

It looks good but it needs to remove. So 343 as always won’t fix it and say we learned a lesson for the next Halos bla bla bla…

They actually just finished testing a new build that fixes that, and it’s pretty sweet. I Hope it gets put on console.

I’m going to abuse this. It’s pretty damn simple to do. If it gets patched I dont particularly care…

Oh, this is such BS. I can understand the whole point about the superslide thing or whatever it’s called, cause that one IMO had a use that wasn’t particularly game-breaking. This one does, and it needs to be fixed ASAP. On the bright side, from what Vetoed said it seems it’s most effective with projectile weaponry, meaning one can theoretically attempt to dodge whatever it is, but even then I don’t think it’s that effective or possible, for that matter.

With thrust i really dont see much use for this. Shoot+reload+sprint+shoot too many buttons for anyone to really do it in matchmaking and actually hit shots.

Just what we need. Toxicity.

Yea I won’t like this one bit. Especially if someone rapid fires an Rocket or Fuel Rod from above. Don’t need this game to be broken in order to have a “skill gap increase”.

As for some out there who was howlering at 343 to not patch this, cmon y’all. We didn’t tolerate a previous exploit that allowed some weapons to fire faster than intended, why show tolerance for this kind because it works with Percison weapons the best? This would utterly destroy the sandbox balance.

Rapid fire SPNKr EM to killsteal mythic bosses… wow.

Why would you want to keep heavy aim?

I’m not advocating for this glitch, but how the hell do you prioritize this over something that’s been around for a year? (especially when the simple fix would be to disable sprint whilst a user is airborne?)
Yes, it’s exploitable, but when the fix/possible solution for fixing it is so simple that even a monkey could solve it, why should it be priority #1 over other things that break the game? (Map exploits, heavy aim, infection spawn bug, etc.)
