H5 BR nerf carried to Infinite?

As anyone that stuck around with H5 knows, the BR was nerfed to where nobody will even touch it. It was made into a super inconsistent gun especially at distance, which is where it should excel at medium ranges.

Do you guys think the way it was finalized in H5 will be the way it functions in HI? We only see a few shots of it in the Multiplayer Overview and I personally can’t tell if it is or not; I won’t be able to unless I’m the one firing it. What do you guys think from the footage we got?

I think it looks and sounds much better. As for its usability we will have to wait and see but it looked like it was taking care of business. 5’s final iteration of the BR was just an abomination and turned the game into a pistol fest a lot like HCE. Which is fine but with how beloved the BR is idk how they thought that was ok and to never change it back before they quit supporting 5 for MCC. But I do wholeheartedly believe they will do a lot of things right in infinite and that they are learning a lot from the recent successes of MCC in all aspects.

Considering there’s clear and considerable sandbox changes in infinite over halo 5, I don’t think its a good metric to gauge the weapon.

Honestly I was sort of happy the magnums took control they were a way harder weapon to use and there is even a clear skill gap with how it is used even in the higher levels it put more emphasis on gunskill rather than positioning because you could always out aim your competition if you were just 1% better

  • I hope there is a gun like this in halo infinite rather than just BR dominance like in the older halo’s

We’ll see in the test flight.

In the training mode it looked like reliable gun. Not much spread of the burst and crosshair small enough that it assumingly still accurate at distance.
Looks nothing like the butchered Halo 5 BR, but more like the Halo 5 H2 BR. There were occasional playlists with this as the starting weapon and adjusted move set which always had the rumour to be the testing ground for Infinite, seems pretty true now =)
