Hey fellow Spartans! Earlier this evening one of the Halo groups on Facebook posted a question asking who would win in a fight: Captain America or Master Chief. Originally I was going to post a response, but then I got to thinking how similar Chief and the movie version of Cap are similar in my opinion. After a little more deducting I have come up with a few reasons why I think Guardians and Cap’s second movie Winter Soldier follow a similar plot. (Note, I’m using the movie version of Cap, and the game version of Chief for my comparisons for a majority of my arguments :P)
1) Very early on in the movie/game both protagonists have to board a ship and eliminate all terrorists on board.
2) Chief and Cap are branded threats to their respective organizations and hunted down by elite squads.
-Chief goes AWOL (for reasons unknown) so the UNSC sends Fireteam Osiris to track him down, led by Jameson Locke.
-Cap is branded a terrorist by SHIELD (Hydra in disguise) and is hunted down by STRIKE, his former team, as well as the Winter Soldier later on.
3) Both teams of the protagonists are very similar.
-Blue team consists of John, Fred, Kelly, and Linda.
-Cap’s team has Captain America, Falcon, Black Widow, and Agent Maria Hill (towards the end of the movie she helps out so I’m counting it).
4) One of the large organizations present fights in a civil war.
-Jul M’dama’s Covenant fights the Arbiter’s Elites at the Battle of Sunaion.
-SHIELD agents loyal to Cap fight against Hydra agents in the Battle of the Triskelion.
Bear in mind this is for fun. Some points may be a bit of a stretch, but hey I tried thinking what is similar. Feel free to post any other similarities you can think of below!
They do sound similar but up till the actual game comes out we can’t say for certain but I doubt they will be that close especially with the covenant and prometheans involved in various ways.

Oh I think you’re absolutely right. Given the information we have about the game now a lot of plot devices can change. I have fun finding similarities. No doubt for sure there are a lot more reasons they are different.
How about you freakin remove this post or change the title!! Many of us on the forums don’t want any more speculation posts in our faces. If you want to make a speculative post don’t put what your overall conclusion in the freakin title just put. “Halo 5 theory” so that those who want to speculate can and those who want to be surprised by Halo 5 story don’t possibly see a potential spoilers!! So how about you learn something from a angry Halo fan enjoy

Yeah I think some of them are pretty stretchy. I know you did this in fun, but some people are going to point to this as “omg they’re turning halo into marvel!”

Very early on is kind of used to weasle the fact its level later, and has another group of protagonists do something else first.

Actually rather on point.

I don’t see whats similar beyond there being 4 and there being a 50/50 male/female split. Their roles are very different. That’s also ignoring the 2nd team of protrags exists.

Yet its a seperate faction than any of the protangoists are a part of. One is the central focus of the plot, the other is an ongoing story.

But you can’t say that the fight scenes was bad. Especially the Cap vs. Winter Soldier aka Bucky scene in the city.

I’m just going off of the wiki info lol. I will agree it is referred as a research station in-game. For the purpose of my argument it works as a ship, but there’s no reason why it can’t be both.
