H4's campaign is structured like CE's.

CE Mission 1: Start out in ship under attack by covenant, then escape to a forerunner installation.

IV Mission 1: Start out in ship under attack by covenant, then escape to a forerunner installation.

CE Mission 2: Crash land on installation saving marines and driving warthog.

IV Mission 2: Crash land on installation and drive warthog for a while.

CE Mission 3: Explore Covenant ship and Covenant-built environments in search for Keyes. Purple surroundings!

IV Mission 3: Explore Promethean territory and Forerunner-built environments in search for a signal with the Captain of the UNSC Infinity. Purple surroundings!

CE Mission 4: Explore island for map room.

IV Mission 4 (lol): Explore jungle looking for Infinity. ( Not really similar but I figured I’d add the whole campaign, not segments.)

CE Mission 5: Run from room to room, bridge to bridge, canyon to canyon, and in a tank, in search of the Control center.

IV Mission 5: Hop on Mammoth from canyon to canyon, run from balcony to balcony, from room to room, and get in awesome tank, in search for gravity well.

CE Mission 6: Explore creepy swamp full of enemies.

IV Mission 6: Explore creepy towers full of enemies.

CE Mission 7: Endure wave after wave of enemies to retrieve index.

IV Mission 7: Fight through each hallway to the Composer where you survive wave after wave of enemies.

CE Mission 10 ( gotta skip #'s 8 and 9 because Halo 4 doesn’t have that many missions) Fight and run through a ship you plan to detonate.

IV Mission 8: Fight and run through a ship you plan to detonate.

While I understand some parts of this new campaign are in no ways alike at all there were some glaring similarities I thought that I’d show to those whom hadn’t noticed. If there are any more similarities I forgot don’t hesitate to post them!

Wow, no replies. I guess multiplayer is what Halo is now rather than the stories it used to be. :frowning:

Halo 2 and 3 had a very similar structure.

Although, in Halo 3, the first mission took place in a Jungle, but the next mission had a Human Base being invaded by Covenant forces.

  1. Agreed. Though CE’s escape lacked urgency.

  2. The lack of marines to at least operate the Hog turret is one of the reasons why Requiem didn’t give me that feeling of awe.

  3. True.

  4. Rally point charlie is sub par to Silent Cartographer’s beach assault.

  5. Reclaimer lacks the toys that made AotCR so great. You only get like 3 vehicles at a time. And there’s a new sniper alley. But the most disappointing thing has to be the lack of AI collecting. Marines and Spartan IVs are completely irrelevant.

  6. I admit, the towers were kinda creepy.

  7. Fight in close range 93% of the time.

  8. Pretty much.
