Halo 4 might suck, 343i isn’t exactly an accomplished development studio like Bungie is.

Im not going to tell myself itll be awesome until I see it. So far ive been disappointed with the halo series after halo 2. Halo 3 was overhyped. Odst was short. Reach was Reach. And Anniversary has horrible facial animations and rendering issues.
So unless Halo 4 really wows me, the best game of all time goes to Majoras Mask for me.

Nope. I dont like him either. The most overhyped character of all time. What really bugs me is that people keep complaining that microsoft is milking halo, but nintendo releases like four mario titles per year and no one even says anything. Though I gotta admit that mario rehash the rehash was alright…
I feel like that Halo has the “Star Wars” effect. It’s remotely popular the first trilogy and is just barely out of being mainstream, the second trilogy makes the series wildly popular and well known and makes it the standard for all movies/games within the same genre. CoD has what is known as the “Indiana Jones” effect where people loved the beginning series of games/movies (Such as CoD2, MW1, WaW, MW2), but then comes to despise the new ones(Black Ops, MW3).

Wait…Star Wars was only “mildly popular?” I’m sorry, but where have you been living? Star Wars broke box office records, and won 11 Oscars with one movie. You should see the crowds gathered in the streets in the footage, I’ve to this day not seen a gathering that big, not unless you’re talking Halo 3.
If Halo’s run is anything like the SW trilogies, the second trilogy will tarnish the view people have of Halo forever. the second trilogy wasn’t exactly popular with fans. I don’t wish that to happen with Halo.

I’ve invested a lot of time into playing just the online on Realism Expert. The game changes every time it’s played, and it’s totally unpredictable.

Hmmm…according to “the lists” every site has the best game is Ocarina of Time (not that I agree personally. Great game, just not one I like). But hey, everybody has their own “best game ever”…mine happens to be Halo 2. Followed by games such as Age of Empires 2, Half-Life, KotOR etc.
As for OP: saying H4 will be the best game ever is a bit premature. We don’t know “anything” about it yet. And although I’m sort of hyped already, I wouldn’t call any game the best ever in advance of release…not even with Mass Effect 3, not even with any Halo game…

This man knows what he is talking about. But I gotta say for me its Zelda Ocarina Of Time. Halo 4 will be risky for 343 if it flunks Halo 5 and 6 wont even be made. I am not buying the next xbox the only games on it I would play would be Halo 5 and 6. I will barley play any Halo 4. I will beat the campaign and get the achivements. But besides that Wii U will be my new home.

HAHAHAHA Your not serious are you bro? Mario was usually 1 game per console thats not milking at all. SMG 1 and 2 was the first time sine Super Mario Bros that there was 2 mario games on 1 system…Well Paper Mario and Sunshine was on gamecube wasnt it? But those both sucked.

COD is a milked game thats a yearly game and there are like what 4 on the 360 alone? BO2 later this year. We get a new mario every like 3-4 years typically.
I’d be surprised if it turns out to be the best game of the year to be honest.
The greatest game of all time is debatable. But based on objective judgement, Ocarina of Time is still the best game of all time today, and most likely will be after the release of Halo 4.
These days it’s increasingly harder to actually make magnificent games that surprise people as time goes on. These days it’s more and increasingly easier for a game to get 90/100 in metascore, but increasingly harder to get anything above 95/100. And I hardly doubt that any existing franchise can come up with a truly surprising game, for that we need someone to take completely new look at gaming.
Halo 4 will definitely be a great game, but it definitely won’t be the greatest game of all time.
