I play Team Throwdown pretty much exclusively and I realize there’s only about 300 players at any given time, but the CSR system is completely void when I consistently get matched with two level 1’s 8 out of 10 games I play as a level 20. (This might not sound like that large of a gap, but in throwdown it literally separates pros from people that are playing the game for the first time) I realize there isn’t a large population and the MM search is supposed to be quick, but it completely ruins the experience when 80% of the games I play aren’t even close because one team has players that are new to the game/gametypes/whatever. I’m not joking when when I say I would willingly wait five minutes searching for a game if it meant I would have competent teammates.
343, please do what was done in Halo 3 and only match people from 10 levels above and below your own level, because as of now the CSR system is completely worthless if it matches me with level 1’s.

Your complaint is valid, but the problem is that there aren’t enough players in the game at this point in order to actually have good matches. If you want better matches, you need a bigger pool to grab players from.
I addressed this in the OP. The search could easily be longer if it means that the MM system actually works. A longer search, while it sucks, doesn’t suck nearly as much as not being able to play a fun game ever.
You addressed that you would be fine with it taking more time. My point wasn’t that it would take time, but rather that there simply aren’t enough players to match in general with too strict of a system. You would have to wait a LONG LONG LONG time for any matches at that point…
I consistently get a game of 8 players in literally <1 minute of wait time. Of the 8 players usually 5-6 of which are generally around my skill level. I find it extremely hard to believe there aren’t another two level 10’s that could replace them if I had to wait an extra 30-60 seconds.
If anything there could be search options like in prior Halo titles like “prefer players near my skill level”
I just want to be able to play a decently competitive game, and CSR currently fails horribly at providing that.
You might wan’t to post this in the wargames feedback section, and I don’t think 343 could afford to have tighter restrictions because everybody stopped playing Halo 4 after December of last year.
