Setting aside my bias towards those weapons, no, what we see is what we get. I don’t 343 would lie to us.

If they make the Sentinel Beam strong their will be no need for the Focus Rifle. I would kill for the Sentinel Beam to actually be decent. It would make the campaign so much easier…

The Focus Rifle was not a sniper weapon, it was a support weapon more like an LMG. A role filled by the Suppressor and SAW.
I can already sense that the brute shot’s gone in favor of the crapcushion rifle. I don’t really understand WHY they’re replacing a Baddaz Grenade launcher with a BLADE attached to it with… the crapcushion rifle.
I honestly don’t even understand why the CCR was even MADE when the brute shot already existed.

And I believe your tin foil hat is on a little too tight. Seriously, no duel wielding and the inclusion of the SAW makes the SMG more or less useless. Plus for the focus rifle we go our almighty Beam rifle back. Plus in that last vidoc we see sentinels. If the Sentinel beam is back that would make the beam rifle redundant.

The Covenant and UNSC weapon videos showed all the weapons for those two factions. The SMG and Focus Rifle were not shown. Therefore, no SMG or Focus Rifle.
Why would they make the SMG useless? The SAW isn’t a primary, and the SMG would most likely be a secondary with boosted damage and high RoF. A small enough magazine to not get a kill with one clip, but a fast enough reload so that you would get the chance to finish them off.
Isn’t the Promethean automatic weapon filling the SMG role anyway? And I think they have made a promethean weapon similar to the beam rifle.
