A little while back I posted a topic bout how I did not like H4 but, will now take that back. I replayed H4 on Legendary and all the fun of H3 and Reach was there for me to enjoy once again. I think the music/soundtrack on H4 is sometimes depressing as is the storyline but I wonder if you guys/girls might be able to expound on this:
From what I can gather from my young nephew and his friends, they just don’t like Halo. They did not like Reach and they don’t like H4. They like COD, MW3 etc., and pass these choices/prejudices down to younger peers and siblings and that leaves us old timers and some youngster that were introduced to Halo by much older peers and siblings.
As people/gamers grow older their priorities change and we leave Halo and whatever else we’re playing behind. Take for instance, me. I started playing Halo towards the end of 3 and just before the release of Reach. I have never been any good at online match play but the point I’m trying to make is that with my life changing the way it is, my gaming tastes change too as does my lifestyle. Kids nowdays (as I once was) don’t really want to play Halo of anykind.
I think the “death” of Halo is inevitable (in the hands of 343) but not just because 343 does not care but because (at least Bungie was able to see) the evolution of gamers and gaming would be the death of Halo. Sociologically speaking, as kids nowdays grow older, the death of whatever they’re playing now (instead of Halo) will also come to pass.
I’ll miss Halo when it’s gone and will try to keep it alive by playing more but, will not miss what has replaced it in my life nowdays, which is more important than any gaming experience could ever be. I really like the forums and Halo gaming community. You guys/girls are not just a**kickers on the battlefield but also some really wise and informed gamers.
