Valhalla remake
There won’t be any remakes in Halo 4.
The new forge map reminds me of Valhalla.
Warm and fuzzy feels were had.

Or a Valhalla like map, remakes are great and all, but I much rather have a spiritual remake than a total remake of a map.
Health.
Oh well… I can dream
! Of course Forge is always an option. I’m not much of a forger myself but I’m sure someone out there will attempt at recreating Valhalla.
As I said though, the game is looking awesome so regardless I’m happy.

I’m pretty sure they never confirmed this, and actually hinted at the idea of there being remakes in Halo 4.
And I agree with Princeyboy, the new Forge map did give me a nice warm fuzzy feeling due to reminding me a lot of Valhalla.

Yes, I can see your point. I just mention Valhalla because IMO there was never another map that I felt functioned as well in a BTB situation. The big team action on that map was just awesome.

Yeah, remakes get old quickly. cough Hemorrhage cough

I thought Frank confirmed this ages ago saying something like “We want the experience to be new…” and stuff like that. Well, I hope to God there’s no remakes. Even though I LOVE some of the Halo 1, 2 and 3 maps, we don’t need remakes. We need new maps.

If they re-made Blood Gulch completely with NOTHING BUT Blood Gulch (that means no part of forge world along with it), and re-vamped to the rock color like it should be (brightly lit, heavy orange-brown rock), and the grass heavy green, noce tan-brown dirt.
I dont really like it when game developers are remaking maps… it just seems so lazy…

And that’s something I’ll agree with, tho that’s mostly because you’ve only played Halo on the Xbox, I’ve played a few custom maps that felt the same way, but they was custom maps.

Agreed, Blood Gulch got remade so many times that it was starting to just feel old too me. The map it’s self was crap in my mind, tho the basic idea of Blood Gulch, a box canyon with two bases, is a great idea, but Blood Gulch’s set up and lay out just wan’t that fun. Valhalla’s set up like Dantexturle said was fun because it felt functioned, and it was good for BTB.
The only remakes I truly would like to see, total or spiritual, would be some of the PC only maps, and the custom maps designed and modeled by some of the people in the PC community, some of those maps are epic, even for Halo CE’s old and limited game engine.
Yes please. I used to play that map all the time with my dad. Much more special moments than I ever had with CE mp.
map remakes tend to not be good, the reason for this is simply because the maps are (usually) better suited towards the game they were made for and not the others.
A good example of an absolutely awful map remake was gears of war 3’s Blood Drive, even though that map was easily one of the best maps in gears of war 2 when it was remade for gears of war 3 it simply sucked, the reason was because they didn’t account rifle damage into the remake. even if they would have changed the map to take into account all the new stuff that they added in gears 3 it would’ve become something completely different like jacinto did.
though I think some of the maps from the previous halo games might fit really well with halo 4, I have to say that its more than likely the maps you guys loved from the previous halo’s wouldn’t work for halo 4.
I personally would rather them make maps completely new because then I know it’ll be made for that game and will (most likely) work well with it whereas with a remake you’re never entirely sure as to whether or not the map would actually fit.
I’m I the only one on these forums that hates Valhalla.
